1. Each Weight Class has ONE Champion: Get rid of all the extra commissions. Having several champions at one weight turns boxing into a ****ing WWE sideshow. One weight, ONE champion. **Fights held at catchweights cannot be for any division's championship. Divisional championships can only occur at their weight limits. 2. MUCH Improved/Stricter Drug Testing: It puts a bad shadow on the sport that so many elite fighters have, at some point, either failed drug tests or have massive controversy/speculation around their careers. 3. Convert Judging to Computers: There's no need to discuss why current judging is incompetent. The better question is how to create a system which is most free from bias. I imagine the first/best step is to take judging out of human hands. People are so damn corruptible :-( 4. Fighters Cannot Sign Promotional Contracts which Exceed 3 Years or 6 Fights, whichever comes first: Butthurt rich lawyers (Arum/Schaefer/etc.) get in the way of fights fans want to see. If ALL promotional contracts had to go through the State Athletic Commission, then this rule could come into effect. Fighters can't say contracts which exceed three years length or 6 fights. Extension contracts cannot be made during the period of an existing contract (take that snake Arum). I realize, sadly, this is all hypothetical as there's too much money involved for these changes to actually occur. But, for ****'s sake, I'm curious to what you guys think of these suggestions and some of your own. CONTRIBUTE...!
1. Yes. Obvious one. I would say get back to the original 8 weight classes, but this is a more pressing matter. 2. Another good one. All year round drug testing for all like Donaire agreed to. 3. Not to sure about this one, Compubox and the like are ****. A more simplistic judging system would be better, and have the judges better positioned like Coretez's idea. 4. Better yet, don't tie boxers to contracts with promotional companies. Have one sanctioning body who make World title fights, and then a promotional company buys the fight from them to promote it.
Man, I thought you said simple changes. -)) How about a replay referee to watch for low blows and slip/knock down. Some rule could be worked out to override missed calls during the round and let the judges know of the corrected call and give warning to fighter with the low blow infraction.
Haha true. The replay idea is definitely a good one too. Lots of stuff happens where cuts are awarded by punches when they were headbutts or vice versa. Could help scoring for sure
I could be wrong but isn't Compubox done by people? As in, a person takes tallies (using a digital clicker or something) of punches throughout the round. What's Coretez's idea?
Here is another one. How about let the cut man used what ever they want to stop bleeding, short of bandages, stitches and those sort of things.
I'm okay with the rules in place because apparently there are things people can use which may be performance-enhancing but simultaneously blood clotting. Those rules are in place to prevent that from happening I believe.
