Fury can actually move and move his head, unlike most tall fighters Tyson was used to. He doesn't need to keep landing a jab to avoid getting blasted. He can also grapple and maul well. If Fury can take Wilder bombs it will take more than a few Tyson hits to put him out, he's not just going to fall over if Tyson hits him clean.

Tyson gasses after a handful of rounds, unable to land anything clean enough to hurt Fury. Eats more than a few counters too. Fury plays it safe until he feels the edge come off Tyson, until Tyson starts getting slower, sloppier. Then Fury starts landing more, turning the screw. Leaning and mauling and wearing out the PED science experiment. Tyson is beat up and exhausted by the late rounds and quits on his stool.

Over 95% think Tyson wins this.

    Hardly surprising.

    Hmmm

Huge height disparity.... Which could favour or hinder both men.

Fury has a lot of heart, turns up when it matters and is a good mover.... Negatives are he can be an innaccurrate puncher who also doesn't throw a lot.

Tyson should struggle against a tall mobile super heavy who is good with a left hand...Fury.

If Tyson lands continuously this could be over quick....

Fury has the style to do it but gun to head I'll pick Tyson.

And Tyson Fury’s elite level wins...? Forty year old Wlad where he landed less than a hundred punches in a twelve round fight and Wilder who lacked basic fundamentals, footwork and skill.
Neither of these really scream elite.

In his first thirty five fights Tyson faced seven current or former World Champions. While the 1986 version that ate Trevor Berbicks soul was good, the 1987-1988 version was better and would have the best chance against Fury. Fury himself admitted he thought a prime, motivated Mike Tyson would be too much for him, but that was before the Kronk Gym training he underwent for Wilder 2.

Why not an 88 Tyson, that was the best version.

Mike Tyson has never fought the guy that huge. Fury is 6' 9" while Tyson is just 5' 11." If the fight goes the distance then Fury will bash Tyson in the mid or late round like Lennox did to him. Everybody knows that Tyson is extremely dangerous in the first half of the bout.

Tyson. Fury has never seen someone as fast and powerful as Tyson.
All this nonsense about Tyson not facing anyone- who did Fury beat?

Look as i said its not put down mike’s accomplishments he could only beat who was in front of him and in the 80s he did beat everyone ? All im saying is after the 80s everytime he stepped up to elite level he was found wanting m, im happy for you to tell me the elite level wins he had ? Tyson Fury elite level wins true there is only 2 and few good level wins. Lets not put down the Wlad win, Wlad looked unbeatable for ten years and the fact he was 40 didnt have anything to do with the lose, Wlad looked the same boxer that night as he did 5 years earlier. TF just figured him out. Wilder is also obviously the other and imo he beat him twice. Also the wins against world title gatekeepers in Chisora and Hammer ? Admittedly not elite level but handled both easy.

Good post, though could do without the GTFOH.
Like others I wonder why not pick the best Tyson, go with 1988?
1986 he is more likely to have his attack thwarted.
It was fair to cite that Tyson admission & yet admit he said it before Wilder 2, good show.

When folks call Tyson a midget or without any evidence disparage him as a PED freak show...
They siphon off all their credibility.
Then it becomes like listening to pre-teens insult because they have over-identified with one & throw all their Fear & Loathing & issues on the other.

    1986 I take Fury.
1988 could go either way. I like Mike as a better overall package-& his resume was more than solid-but could he defeat someone the size & thwarting skills of The Gypsy King?
    A good chance.

The obvious answer is that no-one knows & it'd be a fight that the world would pay many, many millions to watch.

Peak Tyson never fought anyone as good as Fury, who in turn has never fought anyone as peak Tyson. Hence the appeal of the matchup.

70-30 Iron Mike. Mike Tyson on his best night wins, but don't discount Fury. 1986 Mike still had a lot to learn and Tyson Fury is a talented big heavyweight.

    Iron Mike on points.

All I can really see Fury doing all night is holding and trying to tie up Tyson . Mike takes a 116-12 UD.

Mike fffuccked 24 hoes in 24 hours before the Spinks fight...it did him no harm......rory holloway had hired a limousine and as they pulled up in a gas station the pump attendent had caught a peek of the girls...a naked holloway had growled "what you looking at mmmotherfucccker" to the attendent
