Mate, it’s not fencing, it’s very possible for a fighter to land more shots than his opponent in a round but still lose the round. One big, hard shot is more likely to catch the eye than 3 tippy tappy shots. It’s also about who’s controlling the rhythm and pace of the fight, who’s holding centre ring, who’s out-willing their opponent and forcing them on the backfoot, who’s making who miss, who’s forcing the action etc. Compubox cannot measure them factors. Until they create AI that can score it, it’s going to be left to judges to subjectively score it.

That Italian judge shouldn’t be allowed to judge again. Terrible scoring. It’s my understanding that there is a 4th judge in case of a draw...I would have loved to have known how he scored it.

What compubox can't show you is that in the 5th or 6th Taylor landed a cracking shot that made Prograis uncomfortable. It changed the fight pattern, Taylor grew in confidence where Prograis became rattled and ragged compared to the brilliant display he put on in the 1st 4 rounds.

I've not always taken to Taylor, kinda wanted Prograis to win but my gut feeling at the end was it's a draw or a Taylor win. Taylor's performance last night should go down in British boxing history.

Also I think Prograis is up there now as one of favourite fighters along with Shawn Porter after his performance last month.

I had first 10 either 7-3 Taylor or 6-3-1. Not that hard to score the fight for him even though it was close. And I had Regis in all my bets!

Taylor won, becuase my ethereal horse said he objectively won 8 of the rounds.

I think we should all accept that result until someone proves my horse wrong. Afterall, iunlike compubox, my horse is for determining the winner of the fight.

Just watched it again, it’s just as good second time.

Prograis won the first 4 rounds and the last 2. Taylor won everything in-between. Just shows that you can get a slightly different score watching it without getting drawn into the emotion of it. As mentioned earlier in the thread, a body shot in 5th by Taylor changed the fight. So I had it a draw, but no problem either way. Neither fighter dominated a round, each fighter had successes every round. Awesome fight.
