We all know that anyone saying point blank ‘fighter A landed eight shots and fighter B landed twelve shots therefore B wins the round’ doesn’t know what they’re talking about. Punch stats are not a black and white matter of fact science, and whilst it’s true that fighter B may usually win that round, if all his shots are tip tap nothing jabs he may struggle to do so.

I personally found the 114-114 card more problematic. There was no way in the world for me that Taylor didn’t win that fight.

I had it 8 rounds to 4 for Taylor. Some very close rounds but no way could I accept a draw, Taylor won and for me I don't see it being debatable.

 

I agree - I thought he lost his way in the middle rounds which made it close - I had him by 1 or 2 points in the end. But when it went to the cards I knew taylor would get it because it was in the UK.

BUT where taylor won rounds in the middle they were by clearer margins than some of the earlier rounds which Prog won. Still thought Prog won but what a fight.

 

I’ve seen a few sources give him that round. Bit quick to jump in and say it was a fix. Sounds like you’re pretty desperate.

It's an old boxing trick. They give you 1 bad card, to take all the attention, then they sneak one through with a terrible round scored that swings it whatever way you want.

Personally I had it a draw but I can see why people thought Taylor won. You have to be very generous to give Josh more than 1 of the first 4 and he clearly lost the last 2. I personally scored it 4-0 then went to 6-4 before evening it up in the last 2.

I do think Taylor would win a rematch as he wouldn't spend as long figuring Prograis out.
