Khan - Katsidis would be a great fight. Katsidis is a couple levels below the top level, his main assets match well against Khans weaknesses but the same can be said with Amirs assets against Katsidis' weaknesses. Thats a close match, id lean to Katsidis to TKO Amir though. Neither should get anywhere near a real world chmpionship.
I can't say my opinion of Khan has greatly changed after last night. Is incredibly talented coming forward, but has such major defensive flaws that need to be sorted before he can step up a level. His chin, as always, worries me. He forever seems one good punch away from being folded. Credit to Gomez, he did what was expected, and certainly had his moments. But against a top 10 LW Khan will struggle...a top 5 and he'd be KO'd pretty quickly at the moment.
RP - Aren't you the same guy who said Gomez didn't deserve his chance??atsch Khan has good handspeed and movement but needs to fight at European level before he's even considered for a world title.
To me, Khan still looks like he's 'practicing' in the ring. Not really confident unless he's attacking - when he looks great. And when put under pressure he didn't look good at all. How much sparring d'you think he does? 'Cos it still seems like it's not enough...
good learning fight for khan. i'm not going to get over-excited, but i was impressed with the way he came back after getting hurt twice - especially after being hurt by that bodyshot and responding with a quick 4 or 5 punch combo which sent gomez back onto the ropes. i half expected the fight to get stopped at this point. khan is nowhere near the finished product but gomez proved to be the perfect opponent for learning how to deal with a pressure fighter. i'd really like khan to re-evaluate his world title ambitions and give himself more time at least so we can see him in with some more top domestic opposition. won't happen though.
