    chin chin chin chin chin.

Im sick of reading about amir khans chin. There are about three fighters in history who had "great" chins. Most other fighters have been put down in their careers. Look at pavlik. calzaghe, hamed, pac man has been ko'd and is seen as p4p one of the best.

amir khan has been put down, but its the way he got back up and destroyed his opponents we should be talking about. everyone from tyson to eubank to lewis to barerra have been put down and still managed to be great fighters.

But the thing is Khan is hitting the deck a lot early in his career, by poor to average fighters.
Plus Limond is feather fisted, and he had Khan all over the shop.

Khan always goes against the ropes and changes directions, limond just smashed him when he was on the run...... his footwork and movement is more stable now, he dont cross his legs like an amateur no more, and his balance is better as well.. and his lateral movement, hes improving on the main things.. i think when people mention the limond fight theres a lot of reasons to why he got knocked down, it wasnt JUST down to his chin.. It was amatuerish mistakes that made him pay against a well schooled pro like limond whos no mug at all....

Against Limond , Khan threw a double left hook and got cracked with a counter right hand . Khan leaves his chin too high while throwing shots and against guys who will keeping firing back while taking punches(such as Limond and Gomez) he'll get caught and put down and against the better ones stopped unless he changes his ways .

Khan also comes in , in straight lines far too often , especially during his fluries . His chin is especially high while doing this and he'll pay for it soon enough as he's bound to get dropped again while doing this .

When he backs a man onto the ropes he stays squared up(not a problem in itslef) and either guys in straight and flurries with straight punches or goes in and then straight out . He never goes in , dips to the side , works the body/comes up with hooks and uppercuts . Just letting your hands go in quick bursts won't be enough to stop goes Gomez style at a higher level and in America/other countries refs are much lesss likely to dive in and stop it while a fighter is shoe shining .

They need to get Khan a really good trainer because a lot of mistakes from the Limond fight are still there , they are just being covered up by the type and level of the opposition . Limond would still give Khan problems today .

Khan has fantastic speed of both hand and foot , and reasonable power . But unless he is developed correctly(which isn't happening) he is going to get brought back down to earth in a brutal manner .

That wasn't a fantastic display from Khan , if that Khan had been in with a younger Michael Gomez there is a very good chance he would of found himself being stopped , and much more significantly if that had been Khan in with Yuri Romanov he would of been destroyed .

The chin is suspect but far too much is being made out of it.
Who would have thought Pacquaio would have ended up where he is today after being knocked out by Rustico Torrecampo, who ended up with a record of 14-8-5

Great post.I thought that fight showed why he wont be as good as first thought. No inside fighting at all, and looks like he could get knocked out even in a clinch he was that sloppy.Needs full range to be effective imo, which does'nt bode well for when he meets the big boys.I thought one punch could change the fight from gomez.Did'nt think that with khan !
