John fought on the undercard tonight to Paul Appleby and won over 8 rounds against an opponent from ghana. he fought really well in parts of the fight and was a good warm up to his tilt at paul trusscott and the commonwealth title early next year. he did suffer a cut above his right eye but hopefully that wont hold him back.

how did everyone else rate his performance and how do you think he wilf air against trusscott?

I thought he looked comfartable apart from the clash of heads and the cut. Seen him on Harrison undercards a few times and always put on a show so good luck to him.

good to see him back on winnin ways, i thought he was gonna blast the guy out early, but, when he got the cut i think he slowed down a little, was the guy not kenyan?..........anyway, good luck to him and lets hope his eye heals in time for truscot in january :good

Watched the fight this afternoon. Very good performance and hopefully he will gain a title at his next attempt. Hope he gets a rematch with Appleby.

Gicharu is indeed Kenyan, I didn't see the fight so can't really give much comment on it but it seems Simpson did a less impressive job than Derry Matthews(who won 80-71 over 8) and Patrick Hyland(who stopped Gicharu in 1).

Simpson v Truscott is very interesting and seeing that the winner of that fight will probably take on the winner of Appleby v Lindsay it really adds to the intrigue. The winner of that little quartet will probably get a shot at the European title aswell. Of course that's with everything working in a perfect World and all those fighgts coming off.
