if everyone can agree it seems. This was in my inbox today from the British Boxing Board.

    FEATHERWEIGHT
MARTIN LINDSAY v WINNER OF JOHN SIMPSON/STEPHEN SMITH (4th September 2010)
Following Stephen Smith sustaining in injury in winning the Commonwealth Championship, he has withdrawn, therefore, if agreement can be reached for Martin Lindsay v John Simpson to take place by the end of November, approval will be given.

So here's hoping Warren and Maloney can do a deal. Simpson deserves this shot.

Could set up a very interesting chain of events with a Simpson/Smith rematch in the future as well as Lindsay/Smith.

A very, very difficult fight for Simpson but I'd give him a chance.

Styles make fights man I think Simpson wins this imo .I always back my local fighters man Scottish (biased as f--k lol) No reason man I see it similar to Appelby and Smith man .Both very close decisions man both in Scotland and Lindsay's record is pretty much the same in terms of experience so I really only see him winning a close decision if he wins because Simpson's never been stopped and also Simpson has boxed double the rounds Lindsay has. Got to give Lindsay props man his stoppages against Appelby and Matthews were impressive but as I said styles make fights man and both Lindsay and Simpson come to fight so I see this a war man and a foty candidate, my guess anyway .

I hope so mate. But if I was doing the betting odds right now I'd have to make Lindsay 4/6 and Simpson 5/2. I'm as big a fan of Simpson as any but I worry about the slow starts he makes. No matter where this fight lands, should it happen, he's gotta jump on Lindsay from the first bell. He needs to give him something to think about. And also give him no range to let him tee off those bombs.

Simpson can do it no doubt but it'll have to be his greatest performance to date.

Kinda hoping it's in Northern Ireland. Never been before :hey

Gutted about my hand injury - got to have an operation Monday so may be out a while. Would like to wish John Simpson all the best and hopefully the rematch can happen after this one if he wins for both belts. If Lindsay comes through then it may set up a good one between ourselves, we'll see. All the best :bbb

I will be looking forward to this fight. I think this division has been the most entertaining in recent years domestically.

Hopefully this can get arranged John deserves bit of luck after his points fiasco in 3 of his fights. Could see the match up being a good slugfest, for me Lindsay would definitely be favourite but John can take that title just needs to start quicker than he did against Smith and try and get in about Lindsay. Hopefully we'll hear something concrete soon.
