I don't want to see the disgrace that is called Dirty Matthews fight, ever, so NO, I don't want Simpson sharing the same ring as him again.

 

Why does Derry get rightfully criticised for fouling but Hatton gets credited for fouling?

 

Dirty's cheating and fouling cannot be compared to Hatton's beardance! :deal

...way before my time...I've only been a fan since March and out of what I've seen, Dirty pissed me off more than anyone, by a mile!

aah no worries my man. Look. Us scots here arent all going crazy just cos Simpson beat Morris, its a lot deeper than that. Simpson has always had to do it the hard way, & us Simpson fans here have always been wanting him to get a bit of luck. John always has to fight in his opponents backyard, & has been the victim of two highly debatable decisions, against Williams & Matthews. & then, when he fought well & beat Morris in the second fight, he got no plaudits from the media, who made out he got lucky. So Simpson & his fans have had a tough time, but we all knew he was improving all the time, & adding power to his slick skills. The signs were there, but we have been waiting for a while for John to show the world what hes truly capable of, & he did it big style. Thats why we are celebrating, not just cos John beat an englander, but cos John has finally shown the world what us Simson fans knew he could deliver.

OK, I know Im waffling on a bit, but I want you to know that us scots here arent just tunnel vision patriots who cheer our own fighters on blindly without knowing any facts, we know our stuff once you get to know us! & talking & debating & sometimes even arguing with us will keep your writing skills a lot sharper than a thousand debates on that humourless, smileyless boxrec could ever do

As for wee Andos fight next week, its no foregone conclusion IMO. But thats for another debate, another thread, another time!(probably in the next few days ) so dinnae worry as us scots would say, its water off a ducks back.

Im well happy for John, his sister who posts here, & for you. We knew John had it in him, & its so great he showed us what hes capable of.

Todays celebration is tomorrows humiliation Terry my good man, I have had to endure my fare share of **** when the scots boys got beat! Worst one being when Ando lost a dodgy decision to Nuumbembe when I had picked Ando to obliterate him in a round, I had to endure welsh guys making 'congratulations Ali Nuumbembe' threads, no kidding! Now when you have englanders & taffs celebrating a scotsman getting robbed by an african fighter, thats hard to stomach! So it aint all been plain sailing for me fella, & thats the truth. Great win for John and really impressed in the manner in which he won. He looked a hugely different and immensley improved fighter compared to when I first saw him at the Braehead in 05.

Personally I think he should look for a 3rd successful defence of his belt before jumping into the Euro fray.

His next fight up here would be a bonus as well.
