    well what can i say about that fight,both boxers showed grit and determiation it was a joy to be involved in,ive just arrived home and would like to praise paul truscott for the way he and his family conducted themselves after the fight true sports people,special praise to paul's brother who came to congratulate john with his mother which i thought was class.good luck in the future paul coz beleive me you have one.:good

    I already showed my appreciation for the fight :good

    I was rooting for Truscott with me being a fellow 'Teessider', but Simpson has certainly made me a fan of his and I hope he continues improving as he is looking better and better everytime I see him.

    Ha Ha nice one Billy I had a Tenner on your boy winning via stoppage at 4/1. Nice £50 back. Love it when Bookies get it wrong :lol:

    It was a fantastic fight, both men did themselves very proud.
    I had Simpson to win by stoppage at 4/1, after seeing him training and sparring the other week I was very impressed and knew he wouldn't be denied - he was like a machine! But what heart from Truscott though - whew! - what a warrior!

    Well done Billy, and please pass on my congratulations to John too. :good

    What a fight Billy, Well done to John and yourself mate. Trusscott showed barrel loads of heart but John just refused to lose and his workrate was very impressive. He listened to your instructions between rounds (right hand then left hook was a peach that kept catching Paul) and even the local fans were taking a shine to him as the fight went on.

    I really hope the lindsay fight happens as it could be another belter but on last nights form John wins that one comfortably.

    Fancied a late stoppage for Simpson - but left it alone as I know Trussy has such a big heart.

    What a brave kid. Great start to the season.

    kerrinator if lindsay lands just one of the punches that truscot got in it is good night to simpson . take nothing away from simpson he fought well last night but he was standing toe to toe with a bloke who had no punch and if he stands toe to toe with lindsay their is only one winner lindsay ko

    Simpson - Truscott was a brilliant start to the season. It showcased all that is good in the game, two fighters giving their all from the first bell and great sportsmanship from both sides after the fight. An example to all.:good
