I never knew Simpson had that power, I don't think anyone did. I wonder how the Ryan Barrett looked cos he got ko'd.
I havent seen the barrett fight Achilles, but according to reports Ryan was down for a good five minutes...
If anyone else wants to see the fight, just add yer name on this thread, & I will PM you:good & remember folks, as I said earlier, dont matter if we dont see eye to eye as at the end of the day we are all boxing fans & I will help anyone out, cos Im a nice guy really So dont worry, I wont snub ANYONE who adds their name(yup, even you Sean ), thats a promise. Just be quick though, cos it wont be available for long.
I think i can safely say i have been preaching about johns improved punching power even beofre the barrett fight and my good man dunky will back me up on that 1!! i will get the copy of the barrett dvd as i was meant to before and im sure your friend could upload it for us dunky?
I expect you are referring to muay thai chicks comments? if you are you have to remember thats Johns sister and morris has never really stopped saying how much he was going to hurt john and all that bull**** so keep that in mind. though you are right we dont want to see anyone getting hurt but im sure she didnt mean it in a nasty way i kow her very well and she isnt like that.
just read that morris could be moving up to SFW but i dont think that would be a good idea i think he lacks the punching power and also according to this report he can make the weight safely if he trains properly and thats according to bob shannon. http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.../1015944_morris_looks_for_winning_recipe.html
Thanks for the PM Dunky, fantastic fight, and well done Simmy! I dont have enough posts to respond to your PM yet, so have to post on here. Cheers Dunky
Nae bother Victor, he will do it no probs for ye if you send him it:good Im heading up to his house tomorrow for the Scotland match, hopefully we can sneak a draw, but its a big ask. Im just enjoying a wee can of Tennents just now, its thirsty work all this posting on ESB on a swelteringly hot day in Sunny Glasgow:beer
No problem at all finzwinz,, always happy to help out a fellow poster, especially a scotsman:smoke Nice avtar btw:good
Cheers Dunky, that was taken on Great Western Road, Glasgow; a couple of months before the demolition of Brodie. Scotty was a total gent. Very sad to see the way it all ended, but here's hoping he can make a triumphant return when he's at peace with himself. 'Mon the Scotty:happy
I dont think we will ever see Scotty back in a boxing ring again sadly enough, aye it is indeed sad how it all ended. However, life goes on as they say & its up to the next batch to prove they can be as good as Scotty was & Arthur is.
Think cuts are becoming as much of an issue for Morris as making the weight. His last fight with Simpson was stopped on a bad cut which kept him out of the ring for some time and now he has been cut badly again. Just seems he is one of those fighters who is prone to them.
Do you partially blame Joan Guzman for Harrison's downfall -questionmark- I have been wondering if that is what you have against the man.
yeah he does seem to have a problem with cuts but the weight is def the major factor for him even when he fought thorpe in july he was fighting at 9st 8' if he could make the weight he should have been down at least a little bit more than than that to get him the proper preparation for the fight as bob shannon said in the interview. also when he turned up for the weigh-in on thur i got a call (as i have inside info from a close sourse to john!! haha!!) that morris turned up looking like he had just been dug up from his grave he was so pale looking and told to get as much money on john as i could and others musy have noticed cause his odds were slashed from 6-1 right into 5-2 when the fight started.
Whenever Morris has a fight coming up there are rumours about his weight although it seems from what his trainer has said that he is not moving up to super featherweight. Haven't read anything from Morris himself since the fight although he did have plenty to say beforehand - probably regretting that now given the manner of his defeat. Never been a fan of weigh-ins the day before a fight - where it is really tight there should be another on the actual day! As for the odds, I think Morris was odds on favourite at some point (ridiculous). Hope you took your 'insiders' advice and did well out of it - only next time you have info of this quality please let me know so I can get down the bookies as well! :good
