Reminds me, never got to see Benny swearing atsch Im convinced thats why theres adverts between the rounds :rofl :hey
I would like to see the fight go to scorecards for an accidental head clash, providing the fight has gone more than 4 rounds, otherwise it should be declared a no contest. I had Truscott up by 1 at the time of the stoppage, its a shame for the young lad to lose his CW title and unbeaten record in that manner. However I thought Simpson would have gone on to win the fight as he started walking through Truscotts punches and looked to be landing the heavier blows himself. :bbb Still, it was a good fight, and Trusscott has earned a re-match IMO. Ill be tuning in for it if it happens. thumbsup
haha alright mate, I lurk on here and the whole east side boxing forum every day! Pie drove down and back up straight after the fight!
Can i just add,Paul said the head clash was as much his fault as John's,and can i just apologise for the small section of fans who were booing,i think its people who dont understand boxing that boo.
Top bloke :good How is your son feeling this weekend Smoggie ? Have you had a look at the fight aye ? Also how is the eye looking today ? Cheers
It was a good fight, would definitely like to see a return. The accidental headclash rule must come in - I know it is open to abuse (see Judah vs Clottey) but guys shouldn't lose by TKO on an accidental headclash.
It is an absolute atrocity of a ruling from the BBBoC. Fancy getting a KO loss on your record from an accidental headbutt, a part of the body which is illegal to use under normal circumstances. IMO any stoppages due to cuts arising from headbutts should be declared NC's. **** going to the cards, you don't know what would have happened later.
Boxing Monthly did a little feature on it..... Guys can make calculated decisions to quit if they feel either a) they are ahead b) they are on the way to being stopped anyway and take a gamble. A stoppage loss at the stage of Truscott's career could prove damaging - with the obsession with the fabled '0' in this country.
I don't know how you calculate it. If the doctor tells you to continue, you can continue. No messing, if you quit from there its a retirement. If you get headbutt accidently and the doctor says it should be stopped, NC. If you get headbutt purposefully it should be a DQ because that **** is just out of order.
I suppose the most recent examples are Rahman vs Toney and Judah vs Clottey. Rahman QUIT, that cannot be debated. Judah was doing his usual front running, before weakening - IMO he would have been stopped late. From memory I had it level on the cards.... It's a tough rule, I can see your point that if you quit you quit, and if you are taken out by an accidental headclash it should be a NC, deliberate a DQ in your favour. On the flipside, if you are standing someone on their head and clash them accidentally say in the 10th (having won say 7 of the 1st 9) and you got a NC......
