Check the guys resume....He has wins over Juan Lazcano, Jose Luis Castillo, Kostya Tszyu, Luis Collazo(won WBA title at 147), Carlos Maussa, Juan Urango, Vince Phillips, Ben Tackie, and Ray "Sucra" Olivera. He is the best junior-welterweight in the world and people act like he is a scrub. If he gets past Malignaggi, later this year I believe he still belongs among the best 10 fighters in the world. A lose to the best fighter of your era shouldnt drop you to bum status among fans. If he continues to win, and wins his next couple of fights, I truly believes he belongs among the top 10-15 junior-welterweights of all-time.

He is already in the top 10 IMO

He beats some of the top 10, but loses to some from 10-20

    :deal

He is miles ahead of any other 140lb'er at the moment, but moving through divisions is in vogue at the moment he gets flak - because he is simply unable to carry his strengths up.

Yeah but thats boxing....just the nature of the beast. Thats one thing I respect about the UFC. If you lose a fight, the media doesn't write you off as finished.

He schooled Urango, and was awful doing it!

Collazo he prepared badly for, and the Lazcano fight was a comeback fight - which served it's purpose.

All this about him being rocked etc - he has been rocked in every fight I have seen bar Maussa for the past seven years :deal

it's more like he gone from a hard living fighter - fry ups, beer, etc - to a shot fighter

it's all caught up with him

Mayweather KO'd him the **** out

it's hard to underrate Hatton now - cos he is **** - he is shot

the only thing that drives Hatton on past his best days is

    ££££££££££££££$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Ray Hatton probaly pushs his son to fight "one more time" so they can afford something extra and have a few more ££££££££££££$$$$$$ in the bank for a rainy day

Hatton is a greedy fat ****er - who was exposed V mayweather - he bluffed his way into that fight - convincing people he had a chance so he could net his biggest payday

    he got wasted

Hatton is crap now - thats a fair assesment - he is shot as a world class fighter

Juan Lazcano a natural 135/shot. Castillo shot. Tszyu shot. Lost to Collazo. Maussa starched in 1 by Ortiz. Urango a club fighter. Phillips shot/12 defeats. Tackie 10 defeats. Olivera shot/starched by Augustus/11 defeats.

140 doesnt suck right now...Witter just ruined a showdown by losing a couple months ago, Malignaggi is a very good capable fighter, Herman Ngougja, Gavin Rees, Souleymane M'baye, and Tim Bradley are there too. Also Andres Koltinek who just won the WBA belt. Its not what it used to be but 140 doesnt suck right now, you musta got it confused with the heavyweights.

    Lazcano in last chance saloon
Castillo fair enough, but still ranked 1
Tszyu > Mosley that fought Cotto :deal
    He didn't lose to Collazo
    Urango gatekeeper, not club fighter
Vince Phillips good win at the time
    Ditto Tackie

Hatton = Natural 135lb'er - crispy duck and beer in his earlier career

Flint, you're one bitter man where money is concerned. Hatton may be past his prime (most pressure fighters approaching 30 are) but he's far from 'shot'.

That is actually accurate though and mostly factual, other than Tszyu being shot. Not shot, but obviously past peak.

How can you not like Ricky Hatton. He's like your mate! Probably confuses people outside of the UK with his accent and penchent (spelling) for binge drinking and fryups. And I've never seen a boring fight with him in it. A worthy champion, and I hope he ****s Malignaggi up.

Don't worry - it will be a serious beating.

Malignaggi is seriously hittable with nothing in his fists. Ricky will just walk him down.

Disagree about boring fights - Vilches and Urango were snoozers, but other than that, fair enough.

It just looks good on paper because most of these guys were actually pretty good fighters when in their primes, but in reality Hatton got to them all when they were way past it.
