Yeah another OLDMAN lost. Who's next? :D

Keep them out of the ring for Christ sake. :patsch :huh

Maybe it will give the heavy weight division a chance to rise up from the ground.

Wlad vs Gomez would be great, because seem's like another beltholders and top dogs don't want to be near wlad. seriously, i don't believe Gomez want neather fight wlad in seriously. Long time ago they sparring together in Kohl's team.

Gomez cant knockout anyone in the heavywieght division, Peter would put Gomez to sleep like Diaz did.

    i would imagine so.

from memory mccall was the mandatory to fight winner of peter-maskaev. correct me if im off base here.

i'm guessing the money gomez's team offered was too good for mccall to turn down. i mean, why else would mccall rematch with a guy who outboxed and beat him the first time, and risk losing his mandatory position?

mccall probably realised his chance of winning the wbc belt was getting slimmer as time dragged on (as he would have had to face potentially peter or vitali, both no easy task)

so he took a good payday verses gomez in germany and the gamble didn't pay off.

anyway, he would still be ranked reasonably high despite the loss due to name recognition. one of the very few american heavies left. and of course a placement simply to pad another fighters record when the time calls for it. just like holyfield was pushed up to give sultan more exposure. unfair to fighters who have to claw their way up the ranks, but that's how it works

    Here's a question:

what were the circumstances behind the Ynaqui Diaz stoppage. Did Gomez just get caught? Was he out of shape? the drugs again? Is he just that bad?

I am interested because it seems now that he might be developing into a contender, and this division needs everyone it can get.

Well whatever the case may be the winner of Peter/Maskaev is gonna have to deal with Klitschko or Gomez so they can forget about unifying that belt anytime soon.

Did McCall lose his mandatory challenger status in this fight?

Aside from looking out of shape and unmotivated in that fight, Gomez got caught with a right hand and Diaz followed up with a barrage of punches. It appears to be just an anomaly cuz Gomez hasn't even come close to losing a fight other than that.

    Kilt may not fight anymore.

Someone posted that he is running for mayor again.

As for Gomez, he might not take over that mandatory spot. He hasn't got the name recognition, which was why Mcall jumped ahead of Virchis.
