During the Klitschko era I really couldn't give a crap about the heavyweight division as no one had a chance vs them, and all their fights were ugly as fk to watch. But with Wilder, Joshua, Fury at the helm with other talent like Usyk, Whyte, Ruiz, Ortiz, Parker, Hrgovic at their heels, I really don't follow smaller weight divisions as much. I'm pretty much putting all my time and viewing into the heavyweight division now, watching all these talented up and comers. The division is absolutely STACKED.
Navarrete (30-1, 25 KOs) scored an impressive fourth round TKO over Francisco Horta (20-4-1, 10 KOs) Nope now I've got to find this fight as I watch the other card(youtube)
P4p all you want, the heavyweight champ is THE man in the sport. When Spence or Porter greets Wilder backstage, the respect is different. None of those guys would mess with him. Guys like Broner would be scared to trash talk him.
Its going through a bad phase at the moment, new blood like Hunter, Usyk and Hrgovic and Ajagbe would make it interesting.
If Joshua has his way, the Klitschko era will seem a good memory I said once Ruiz turned his lights out, he will become risk free like wlad Jab, hold, repeat Right hand with odd left hook Wlad was pretty exciting once upon a time as well I just hope Wilder/Fury dethrones him Fury boxes, but he stays in the pocket more and isn't afraid to get hit
K brothers, Haye, Povetkin, Pulev, Chisora, Sanders, Chagaev, Byrd, Peters vs AJ, Usyk, Whyte, Parker, Ruiz, Povetkin, Hunter, Wilder, Pulev, Joyce, Ortiz, Fury, Chisora, Hrgovic, Dubois and Bakole. It's clear to me which is the stronger era.
I can't say it's because of the era because even during Klitschko era I'd watch HWs profusely. For me lower weights (anything below lightweight or even WW but to a lesser degree) are always lower priority, if I'm really into boxing I'll follow em, if I'm too busy or my interest has waned I don't. Just feels like there's too many divisions in the smaller weights and with all the champions it's just hard to keep up.
