what fight was it when you started to realize that Usyk is a special fighter? what was it that made you go "goddamm this guy is legit"
I took note of him when he beat Hunter but he really made a statement when he knocked out Bellew. After that I believed anything he claimed he would do as he just gives the impression he 100% knows what he is doing.
I'm fairly new to boxing honestly, only been following for about 2-3 years or so to any great extent. Early on, I checked out the Bellew fight and I liked what I saw, but I didn't have nearly as much understanding as I do now. I did take to his movements though, his circling, fencing right hand; his increasing pace and adaptations; and his demeanour. He stuck in my mind. I've always been interested in the 'art' in boxing, beautiful technique, intelligence, defence - over simply watching people bang each other out (of course, that's fun too). The more I've come to understand boxing the more I've come to appreciate him and he quickly became one of my favourites to watch.
Back in 2011 or 2010 There was a user with an avatar of him on another forum with bald sides and long hair. I thought what the hell is this a real person? to my surprise it was and he turned out to be quite a prospect and now look at him This content is protected
Seeing that hair again I'm reminded that I probably saw him in the London Olympics as a kid. Watching that Russo final does give me a sense of déjà vu, that hair especially.
