DLH was stopped by a body shot by BHOP whoi is MUCH bigger and was fighting at 160, where DLH has no business. Other than that, how does that show him being weak to the body?
An argument for it goes: DLH is in his mid 30's and is an unactive fighter. Has been stopped with a body shot before, and meanwhile Cotto is one of the best body punchers in the game at the current moment. Has little late fight endurance, while Cotto is a young, prime fighter. Both fighters best punch is a left hook, and if they chose to trade at any given juncture in the fight DLH could KO Cotto or Cotto could hurt DLH to the body. DLH probably has little desire to fight a punishing fight at this point in his career with the money he has. Cotto- win or lose is a punishing fight, and DLH may buckle under that preasure.
Shane was juiced up and in reality lost that fight, and PBF never hurt DLH to the body, he did catch him with a sharp punch that pushed DLH back a bit, but DLH responded by throwing punches immediately. And Mosley's body punches did Cotto no good in their fight either:deal
Thats a big if. Cotto has shown his ability to establish a solid jab. IMO his biggest weakness is the right hand as Mosely demonstrated again and again. And of course, DLH throwing the hook leaves him open to a left hook exchange.
reading your post made me wanna see DLH VS Cotto.. But hasnt Oscar said that he actually wants to be in one of those war like fights to be remembered by?... maybe he is planning to fight Cotto in his last fight, win or lose agaisnt Floyd???
If DLH throws his jab, Cotto would severe problems as he is at a height disadvatage as well as a reach disadvantage. Add the weight Disadvantage, his leaky defense, and superior defense from DLH, I can't see Cotto stopping him, as he does not hit hard enough (not that I am doubting his pwer, but he has never been a once puch KO guy).
I don't know who I would favor in this fight. The way Cotto loads up on his left hook leaves an opening for DLH to exploit with a hook of his own. This is how Torres kept catching Cotto. And I would expect it to be the hardest left hook he has taken in his career. The fight in my eyes has a lot of wild cards.
