I ve been wondering the same thing for the past 2 years. What the **** is so special about him? Nothing, absolutely nothing.

He's not an elite fighter, that's all i know.

I think that some Cotto fans are kidding themselves if they think that Clottey is going to be an easy out for Cotto. Its going to be a very tough fight. Before the fight with Margo I would say that Cotto would beat Clottey in a hard fought but clear UD. Now im not so sure. Anyone that has seen Clottey fight knows that he is going to be tough for Cotto.

for you cotto fans that think that Clottey isnt going to push Cotto, maybe even to a lose, you need to watch the Cotto-Ndou fight again and then think of Clottey as a much bigger, stronger faster fighter then Ndou and you will see why so many think that clottey can win the fight.

I think most have Cotto as the favorite. What we're (Clottey supporters) are saying is that it is going to be an upset.

Don't beat yourself up....Josh isn't exactly a "BIG NAME". I see it pretty even here on ESB on who will win this one. However styles make fights and given his style it just doesn't compliment that of Miguel. Plus Josh is a bigger man with plenty of stamina who has an air tight "Defense". Over all Cotto looks to be a better boxer with multi demensions but he's not great! Neither is Josh....but both are VERY good boxers and pretty even overall. Josh is bigger with a style that will compliement his own...so IMO its a fairly easy call. Josh by UD or late KO. Not that this is 100%....Cotto is very capable and could win this.....I just don't see it.

So far based on ability I would say Clottey is a good fighter, a world class test and nothing above that unless he proves otherwise against Cotto. Based on previous fights I see him as a good fighter with decent speed, decent power, suspicious stamina and a very good chin. Nothing elite about that in my view and his skills and ability to adapt hasn't been proven yet so I'll leave that out of the discussion till the Cotto fight as I'm sure Cotto has the tools to force him to adapt as the fight goes. If he wins this one, depending how, I will definitely rate him as an elite Welterweight but based on current resume there's nothing elite about it.

The logic behind Clottey getting alot of backing is that he took Margarito for a full fight with a broken hand... something Cotto failed to do. Cotto has lost some of the hype he had before his loss, many people have turned on him
