    Thats what i was thinking but wouldnt the Irish fans feel a touch insulted by some boxer exploiting his great, great ,great gran or whatever the **** it is that ties him to ireland to all of a sudden fight in their name?

    When he fought Wayne Elcock it was billed as the Battle of Birmingham and the seconds/promo girls were wearing Birmingham City shirts. Now he's Irish. Make of that what you will.

    Matthew Macklin is an Irish man. If any of you lads have a problem with that then you need to take a look at yourselves. i don't expect him to win tonight but I'll still be proud of his effort.. In future, it might be best not to respond to threads started by bigots with WATP in their name

    Its a bit laughable at the moment but the best Irish fight that can be mad eis between Andy Lee (Born Bow, East London) and Mathew Macklin (born Brum, West Midlands)....there must be something in the English water that makes fighters go all Dave Allen :-(
