Since when did Macklin become Irish????

He became Irish when he found out it would make him more popular in America amongst the type of people that know nothing about Ireland but were delighted to dig into their pockets and fund terrorism in this country for 30 years....until 9/11.

 

I suppose he does have a Irish defence...

 

Going by your name its obvious that you are a rangers fans and obv have some anti irish sentinment .shame that has to come into boxing, leave it for the terracing.

 

Ok ill take your word for it Andy. The guys nationality is no ones buisness but his and im sure his parents are both irish so dont see why you have to make.it an.issue.its what he does in the ring that matters

Just to give a bit of background info.
Although Macklin was brought up in Birmingham, Birmingham has a very large close knit Irish community. Even Macklins amateur boxing club where he won the aba's Small Heath is very traditionally Irish, run by an Irish family and this is a poster from one of their shows last year.

I'm not overly suprised he feels more Irish than English to be honest.

Unlucky Macklin, you were never gonna win and I even said it earlier in this thread.

I think Sergio is starting to slow down, he is trying to coast fights too much now, why not just come out and unload early doors if you can do it late on???

macklin played ball over here for years has alot of family and ffriends here so its not as clear cut as you make out
