Yeah, the only place he's not as "boring" as Wlad is the pre-fight and post-fight drama but then again the Klitschko brothers always had amazing shows (as far as spectacle and production is concerned) in Germany, they sold the tickets and made people watch them even if Wlad was supposedly "boring". If I remember correctly Fury couldn't even sell out that small arena in his hometown for the supposed July fight.

Wlad and Vitali filled the arenas in Germany, their fights were watched by millions of people live and they became household names in Europe. They did a lot to promote boxing in Europe. Take them out of the picture and what would you have in HW boxing for the last 10 years? Guys like Povetkin and Haye with a title each racking up easy defenses in their home countries.

As opposed to the Klitschko's racking up easy title defenses in Europe with a jab-jab-grab style?

Worldwide in the Klitschko reign, intrest in the Heavyweight division was at an all time low

Europe is almost half of the world that's relevant sport-wise. Why should everything be revolving around USA?

Worldwide there was no interest in the HW division since the Tyson era before Klitschko brothers.

Klitschko faced all the legit contenders and fought in other people's backyards too (as opposed to American boxers who only fight in the USA). He created huge spectacles, made regular people talk about boxing and watch his fights. He was the biggest combat sports star in Europe, bigger than Mayweather. We could actually watch his fights live.

Without the Klitschko brothers the HW division would be absolutely dead. Maybe Haye would make some noise for a few years but we've all seen what he's like, pulling out of the fights and "retiring". Povetkin, Jennings, Pulev, Ortiz etc. as champions wouldn't pull much numbers and interest, especially globally.

Wladimir Klitschko was one of the undisputed ATGs of our modern era. As for his style being "boring" it was still more exciting than Mayweather and he actually finished fights. He also has an interesting personality, is very educated with a PhD, speaks many languages and was overall a great ambassador for the sport. He represented boxing very well in his interviews and public appearances.

I think Americans were just bitter that all the relevant HW action was taken away from them due to not having legit HW boxers anymore and they started with some sort of smear campaign against Klitschko and his fights, you had people parroting how boring his fights are on the internet all the time.
