    Shavers was the heavier puncher. When Ernie put you down you generally stayed down. Wilder put Fury down 4x and each time Tyson got up.

    All this thread has shown is that these "hardest puncher" contestants are not vying for the best boxer title .... Perhaps power is a bit overrated?

    But Bob probably would've gotten up and still beat him .... just like Quick Tillis did. Like Ron Lyle did. Like Bernardo Mercado did.

    Well, the HARDEST PUNCHER won the WBC Heavyweight Title, made 10 successful title defenses, including one over the current World Champion ... and is worth about $50 million ... thanks to his power.

    I think most fighters would take that.

    Especially the lesser punchers like Shavers who couldn't even beat Bob Stallings if he couldn't get the right hand over.

    Wilder can classed with guys like Shavers, Cleveland Williams, Buddy Baer etc I think that’s fare. Big puncher that feasted on low level comp and got beat up bad against the best.

    Still classing draws as a successful defense eh!? Hahaha Start a thread on how Fury must have the best chin ever in HW boxing as by your logic he got dropped heavy 4 times by the hardest puncher in history and got up barely looking shaken!

    Chin= Larry Holmes. Shavers hit'em clean and somehow Holmes got up when it looked like he was ktfo. Ali = awesome chin.
