    fury but that way of rating power is odd always have been being able ko a person is not the only way to show a person hits hard a stoppage or being injured shows it to

    People should start asking common opponents whether Wilder hit them harder than other known punchers, like they did with Shavers.

    In general, yes, Wilder hits extremely hard. He KD'd the only contender he didn't KO in 2 of 3 fights. And like Shavers, he was crude enough that it's probably due to knockout power more than skill.

    It's ironic that the people who call AJs resume carefully crafted and strategically calculated are the same people that hype WIlders punching power.

    What have those results got to do with power?

    Julian Jackson lost to guys.

    You need the opportunity to land it.

    The reality is Wilder most certainly isn't. His resume is mediocre in general and for a 5 year world champion it is terrible. Wilder has monstrous power but Mike Tyson fought significantly better competition and is a better KO artist packed withn 10 times the skill against better competition ergo better puncher.

    Wilder might posses more raw power but if we're going by that then Klitschko, Ruddock or Morrison are the best punchers that i know of because they had absolutely ridiculous punching power, although Klitschko clearly had the best technique. And tbh there could be journeyman who hit as hard if not a bit harder than Wilder or Klitschko but their delivery system sucks. The truth we nobody will ever know who the hardest hitting pro boxer in history is, and i bet it's actually a journeyman

    It's about creating opportunities to punch and then capitalizing on them.

    Earnie Shavers DID NOT knock out:

    * Brian Yates (he lost to Yates)
    * Brian Morgan
    * George Chaplin (he lost to Chaplin)
    * Rahim Muhammad - and Shavers was 20 pounds heavier
    * Walter Santemore (he lost to Santemore)
    * James Tillis (he lost to Tillis)
    * Ali Haakim
    * Tex Cobb (he lost to Cobb)
    * Bernardo Mercado (he lost to Mercado)
    * Leroy Boone
    * Vicente Rondon - and Shavers was 15 pounds heavier
    * Ron Stander (Shavers lost to Stander)
    * Stan Johnson (Shavers lost to Johnson even though he outweighed Stan by 22 pounds)
    * Bob Stallings (Shavers lost to Stallings even though Stallings had a losing record)
    * Ron Lyle (Shavers lost)

    * Deontay Wilder lost to Tyson Fury twice - the World Champion who outweighed Wilder by 40 pounds in all three of their fights - but Wilder still managed to floor Fury FOUR TIMES in their fights.

    That's all.

    Wilder knocked out all of his Ali Haakim's and Bob Stallings ... and certainly never lost to any of them.

    It took the best fighter in the sport, who outweighed Wilder by 40 pounds in all their fights, to finally turn the tables on him. Shavers never even fought someone who outweighed him by that much.

    Wilder hasn't outweighed an opponent in nearly 10 years. Shavers not only couldn't knock out many of the nobodies he fought ... he lost to some of them who he had weight and power advantages over.

    Wilder hit harder than Shavers.

    Fury would dispute that.

    Mike Tyson hit hard, but not as hard as Wilder.

    * Tyson didn't knock out or even beat Danny Williams (Danny has been KOed 16 times )
    * Tyson didn't knock out or even beat Kevin McBride (he's been knocked out 7 times)
    * Tyson didn't knock out or even beat Buster Douglas (he's been knocked out five times)
    * Tyson didn't knock out or even drop Bonecrusher Smith (who has been KOed 7 times)
    * Tyson didn't knock out or even drop Tony Tucker (even though Tucker had a broken hand against Tyson and John Ruiz, Herbie Hide and even Bruce Seldon managed to stop Tucker)
    * Tyson didn't knock out Quick Tillis (who has been stopped nearly a dozen times).

    I'm leaving more out, like Mitch Green, but you get the point.

    Wilder didn't knock out the World Champion Tyson Fury (who has never been stopped), although he had Fury down four times.

    Wilder hits harder.

    Never denied that, multiple fighters hit harder than Mike Tyson, Tommy Morrison for example was stated by multiple common opponents to posses superior punching power to Tyson, with statements ranging from him slightly hitting harder to him being in a different class of power compared to Tyson. Morrison had a glass jaw but him, Wilder and lots of other fighters can punch harder than Mike Tyson.

    However prime Tyson is has more tools and a better KO artist ergo a better puncher than practically any of those guys. Look at Wilders resume. It sucks and it is dwarfed by Tysons resume. Wilder could very well be the hardest puncher in all of boxing history but he isn't the best puncher unless all you care about is raw power and can crushing.

    At least Wilder crushed all his cans, and didn't go the distance with them or lose to them, unlike Tyson. Also, Wilder has the same number of WBC title defenses as Tyson ... and Wilder didn't lose his title to a 40-1 underdog who got knocked out by Mike "The Giant" White and Lou Savarese. Wilder lost it in his second defense against the best fighter in the whole sport right now (who Wilder also dropped four times).

    Wilder is the best puncher.

    He never lost or failed to KO Danny Willams or lost and failed to KO Ross Puritty or Buster or any nonsense like that.

    Wilder only failed to stop the top fighter in the game who had a 40 pound pound weight advantage over him all three times they fought. And Wilder still nearly put him away in two of their fights.

    The power is real.
