That is the level of posting on this board these days.

    1. Based on what exactly?
    2. Terrible footwork, poor punch output, one of the slowest in the division
    3. Who has Ortiz beaten exactly? His two best fights are losses to a heavyweight that has cherry picked his way to the top of the division and then robbed the one live dog that beat him.
    4. Andy Ruiz is arguably the fastest puncher in the division. His punch output and rate of work is significantly better than Ortiz or Wilder. His chin is better than both, has the ability to box for 12 rounds. Must I go on?
    5. Fury would turn up against Ortiz and prove what we know. Fury would outwork and embarrass the limited and slow Ortiz.

In fairness, given that only 14 Shavers fights exist and he lost 7, we can't tell. He may have a highlight reel for the ages if everything was readily available.

I have zero issues with someone saying he's the most powerful, but his credentials don't back it up.

Are you the same one who told before Wilder-Ortiz 1 that Wilder will never fight Ortiz and if he will he will be knocked out in the first round?

Don't you hope to be around his naysayers 20 years from today talking about....I guess U young dogs never heard of the Bronze Bomber? wheww!!!!! back in the day!! Shoot, he fought twice a year!!!! Now they fighting every other year..pfftt!

For all his flaws, enjoy him now!
Knowing any second, with Wilder....it's OVAH! Not since Tyson. Difference was he had to get it done in 5 rounds, don't blink! No restroom hold it!
But with Wilder? That don't blink statement is valid till 2:59 seconds elapsed in round 12, Wilder is still in the fight!
    I'm enjoying it! :aplastao:

No sorry, you have me confused with another poster.
I have respect for Ortiz, given his age and confidence going into both of the Wilder fights. He was winning both fights leading to the KO's, but that's where it stops.

Let's not make out as if Ortiz is a world beater - He is Takam/Miller level...
This was an 'interim' fight for Wilder which he was slated to win, only raising real interest from the casuals. After the Fury fight, Wilder needed a knockout win on his record to raise the bar again.

I would happily break down why I believe Ortiz would lose to Fury, Ruiz Jr, Joshua, Whyte, Usyk and Parker.
I would have Ortiz in a 50/50 fight with Miller, Chisora, Povetkin and a couple of others.

He is very beatable, but like any heavyweight he has a punchers chance against any heavyweight, as does Wilder. Both men are very flawed and we have seen that in a number of fights from both fighters.

Do not forget that Ortiz was considered the most avoided heavyweight before his first fight with Wilder. Particularly in this forum. Someones here even ranked him number one hw in the world. On the other hand Ruiz was regarded almost a joke before his bout with Joshua.
If Ortiz and Ruiz fight each other some day I am more than willing to bet for Ortiz win. With Fury I am not sure but I would not be too surprised if Ortiz knocked him out.

I can't see Ortiz beating the much faster and more busy Ruiz Jr. Ruiz throws combos not just 1-2s all night.

I loved Earnie Shavers when he was active. I watched him back then. He also gassed out after a couple rounds. Had a pretty bad chin. And was wildly inaccurate. But I just loved his power. So fun to watch.

    Wilder is better.

I totally agree. If Wilder is going to start landing short, quick, straight right hands, nobody is going to go 36 minutes without catching one.

This reign may in fact run a lot longer than we ever imagined.

Not true. Wilder is a first ballot Hall of Famer. Joshua will likely make the Hall of Fame. Tyson Fury will likely make the Hall of Fame. It's a solid era.

And we're right in the middle of it.

    Instead of complaining, enjoy it.

I don't ever want to sit through another heavyweight era again where I have to watch Chris Byrd and Davarryl Williamson fight for the top prize. That fight was so dull, I'm not quite sure it actually adhered to the videotape.

My point is Deontay Wilder is the greatest puncher in heavyweight history.

They'll all fight before it's over. Let the accountants whine about the financials.

You don't watch boxing matches from the past based on what the purses were. You watch them for what happens in the ring.
