Which do you 6 packs carrying ESB Adonis' prefer for the following:

    1. Developing abdominal definition

    2. Developing core strength

    3. Developing oblique definition

    4. Developing abdominal size

(Diet aside - of course, just talking about the physical exercises)

I prefer weighted types of situps and sidebends with a dumbbell, but since this is a boxing forum ditch the weights and do endless reps of situps

Why would you choose one or the other? You should do all sorts of exercises. Planks aren't going to do anything for your appearance as it's an isometric exercise, core stability exercise.
It's an 8 pack btw, not a 6 pack. The core isn't just your abs, and personally I cringe when people talk about 'core training'.
Rotational exercises are the most functional exercises, there's not many movements where you have to curl your back/flex your trunk. I know that lots of S&C coaches don't prescribe any sit up sort of exercises.
You want a strong and stable midsection then heavy squats and deadlifts with good form are what you want. The plank is good for determining what muscles you favour to stabilise yourself, different people activate different parts more than others so it can help point out potential weak spots but as a training tool it doesn't do much and the common idea with planks is to hold it as low as possible, people tend to sag and put unecessary stress on their lower back.

    1: Lose body fat
2: Russian twists, all other exercises with good posture
    3: See 1+2, sprints
4: good diet and performing your crunch/sit up/leg raise/bicycle/side bend floor exercises until the lactic acid pain is unbearable, in the same session after doing some heavy weight exercises (helps hormone response).

^this. i wasnt sure if this was a question about trunk training for fighting or for general aesthetic purposes (my last post was sarcasm incase nobody picked up on it, we all know how boxers feel when it comes to weights). for size weighted types of situps and sidebends etc are great. but if you're looking for strength for boxing, rotational exercises like woodchoppers with a cable or russian twists etc are some of the best sport specific things you can do for generating power. isometric holds, and repetitive abdominal lifting are not really useful for boxing, but are great for grappling specific combat sports like bjj or wrestling

    Why one exercise vs another???

variety is the spice of life and all that jazz. My favourite ab/ "core" exercises

    Deadlift
    Russian Twists
    Side Bends
    Rotating side bends
    Saxon Side bends
Ab wheel roll outs (from standing)
    The Flag
    Chinnies
    Sit Ups
    Leg raieses
    Planks and variations
    Weighted V ups
    Back Extensions
    Trunk Curls
    Turkish Get Ups

Just a few and not one of them would i put "VS" the other.

Id like to try toes to bar too, might give it a go although i dont know if i like the way in that video her body is swinging her shoulders are loose and looks like an injury risk????

A few people have already mentioned it, but variety is probably your best choice.I work my abs around 3-4 times a week with different exercises. As long as you have a low body fat % your abs should be visible if that's the goal.
