....Alvarez doesn't have a prayer. All he's doing is throwing WIDE right hands, getting out boxed and was completely gassed by the 6th round.

If Alvarez can't put some serious leather on Mayweather in the first half of the fight, and I doubt that he can, Floyd will win an easy UD. I think Alvarez getting stopped late is a possibility...

Yep the Trout fight was extremely close. However for the Floyd fight, Canelo doesnt have to worry about such a big output, which was a huge problem for him with Trout. And Floyd wont be taking too many risks because of Canelo's power, so Canelo should be able to control the fight in a better capacity then with Trout. Obviously though, Floyd is tremendous at controlling the tempo of fights also, so it will be interesting to see the dynamic that takes place.

Canelo definitely has a chance. The Trout experience was terrific preparation for Canelo, and Floyd will be ready for Canelo also. But I think this is the first time Floyd would have faced a live body who is equally as intelligent in the ring as he is, and, crucially, who can fire-off unpredictable combinations.

Alvarez won ten rounds versus trout. He dominated that boy and will get the ko september 14th via a left hook.

    Unpredictable combinations?

Alvarez looks anything but unpredictable to me. Did you not see all those WIDE lead right hands? It looked like he was trying to air condition the Alamodome. Trout wasn't throwing lots and lots of punches in the first half of the fight yet Alvarez was still winded by the 6th and had absolutely *nothing* on his punches by the 12th.

If Alvarez allows this fight to take place in the center of the ring - Floyd will pick him apart...

Nooo. Trout absolutely was throwing lots of punches at Canelo. This is indisputable and verifiable by compubox stats. Trout had a huge punch output; the most Canelo had ever fought against, and twice as much as what Floyd will offer. I agree that Canelo's stamina was hellaciously awful however. This will be his biggest downfall in his career.

And there is nothing wrong with wide right hands. He threw some wide, threw some straight, and threw some short. That's called punch variation, and its a good thing in boxing. It is partially why Canelo is unpredictable. If you don't think he is unpredictable, then simply just re-watch his fights. If you have a discerning boxing mind, then the proof is in the pudding.

This is true. Floyd can't be hit by orthodox fighters with left hooks. I've seen that enough to know. Canelo will have to use punch-variation. Lots of it. That being said, punch variation is one of the things that Canelo does best.

It's not that hard to figure out. Mayweather is pretty much the superior boxer in all aspects outside of power and size. He just has to do everything he usually does at a slightly faster rythm and this should turn into a schooling after the early rounds.

I watched it yesterday and scored it 116-112 for trout. Canelo wasn't active enough in my eyes regardless if he landed a couple hard shots per-round, and it seemed they gave rounds to canelo just for showing defense, because he wasn't throwing or landing sh**.

WIDE lead right hands which your opponent can see coming from a mile away don't make you unpredictable. Especially when you consider that Alvarez used zero movement in the Trout fight. It was all straight ahead face first as he got out boxed. Had the deck not been stacked in his favor, Alvarez would have taken an "L" that night. He's CLEARLY not ready for Floyd nor is he ready for the best @ 160 and I suspect the suits @ GB know this. Why do you think he's been fighting 140 and 147 pounders since he's come into prominence? The first real 154lb'er he fights and he gets a gift.

Golden Boy is cashing out, IMO...

Oscar didn't wanna risk canelo losing to high risk low reward guys like lara or molina, so he went for the payday.
