I've been saying for sometime now that the better fighters currently at Welter were really lightweights smaller than Mayweather.
The bigger fighters Mayweather has faced that last few years, DLH, Mosley, Cotto, all well on the downside of their careers.
    WELL on the downside.

I've been hearing alot of "Canelo is slow!"

Imo he's faster than both Mosley and Cotto, and more importantly, his reflexes and timing are better than both at this stage in time.

Thats why I'm saying that alot of people are in for a shock, Canelo is'nt on the downside, he's on the upside and improving.

This is one fight where I believe Mayweather will have to be on his A game, or he's going to find himself in trouble. Have'nt said that in a long time about a Mayweather opponent.

Yeah it will be the typical excuses if Canelo get the job done.
Mayweather got old overnight, he'd have made easy work of Canelo just a couple of years ago.

Thank goodness Mayweather is coming off a masterful performance vs a pretty good fighter in Guerrero, because I dont want to hear that ****.

If Mayweather beats Canelo clearly, he deserves the accolades, no question.
But on the flipside, Canelo turns out to be to big and sufficiently skilled to get the victory. Mayweather has put himself in a position over the years that what he's done from Welter to present gets knocked down a few notches.
Imo, Mayweather is facing the first real solid fighter thats naturally bigger than he is since his move up to the welterweight division.

Is Canelo better than the versions of DLH, Mosley, and Cotto that Mayweather faced? I say absolutely yes!!!!

    You're a fool

Oscar,Mosley, and Cotto can hold the middle of the ring...Canelito cannot.

He couldn't even handle Trout on the inside.

The Oscar that Mayweather fought would beat the pink drawers off Alvarez:yep

Canelo's inside game is garbage and he panics by throwing wild shots. Canelo needs to be set and a willing opponent to come forward for him to let off his combos. Trout must have had some power because in the exchanges he would clip canelo and canelo would go back into retreat mode......Floyd may possibly go inside the pocket midway through the fight when canelo is slowing down+gasping for air, and i can see a gatti type punishment to the head and body.

Thats all possible, Mayweather is afterall Canelo's most skilled opponent.
......but keep talking, it should be fun to bring back this post of yours if Canelo gets the job done.

Alot of you *****s dont have a clue. You bring down the opponent calling him slow, he needs to be set, blah blah blah, and yet at the end of it all if Mayweather handles business, you want to give him all the accolades.
For what? For beating a slow plodding, has to be set to fire opponent? :nut

    Trout...and I was right.

He took the inside from Canelito and walked him down.

canelo deserved that win. i watched it again and he hurt trout with big uppercuts and hooks. he even rocked him with jabs. if the open scoring had not been in play canelo probably would have knocked trout out. trout is a good fighter he is a big, tricky, slick lefty and he would make anyone look bad.

he didn't do enough to win.

Trout set the pace....jabbed more...landed more...controlled the ring...won on the inside.

Canelito didn't even try to man-up on the inside.

Alvarez took this fight off Floyd's undercard because HE DIDN'T WANT TO FIGHT TROUT IN VEGAS:deal

Cotto actually had to engage Trout...
Alvarez didn't..all he had to do was not get KO'd.

I'm SURE Cotto could have beat Trout if he had all the cards in Canelito's rigged deck.

hell no cotto got his a$$ beat by trout, his face looked all messed up afterwards. there is no comparison. canelo didnt even look like he got into a fight because trout did very little damage, on the other hand canelo rocked trout several times and even knocked him down. i give trout credit he is a good fighter, it was a close fight and he would be a decent challenge for anyone but on that day he lost to the better man.

I don't buy into Canelos power, he couldn't get Matthew ****ing Hatton out of there. No way he's stopping Floyd.
So that leaves Canelo with one advantage, size, and that's going to mean nothing as he gets pot shotted from range. This fight is about as competitive as Money v Cotto, ie 11-1, 10-2

Canelo is a great fighter and is improving vastly. He used to have no head movement then in the Trout fight he switched up his style and used his head to make Trout miss entire combos.

But I agree with what somebody said about Canelo's legs. They are short as hell man and he's got bad footwork and stamina which is why I think Floyd will coast it on a UD.

Canelo's best chance is to use his fast wild punches in the earlier rounds and try to hurt Mayweather. He has some awkward, explosive combos that aren't that easy to predict. The kid is huge and has power so I don't think Floyd's counter punching will come as easy as it did in his previous fights.
