Competitive round until a hook lands on Suganob as he came in during the final 10 seconds. He appeared a little bit shook but the bell rings after the 8-count.

This looked like a round that Suganob was on the verge of winning, on the front foot, active, backing Nontshinga down. But the champ timed him with a beautiful shot and he went down at the last second. Suganob got up but a knockdown is a knockdown.

20-17 Nontshinga; close round, preferred Nontshinga’s counters. Suganob really needs to watch out for Nontshinga’s speed and really adjust to it.

Looked similar to round 1; Suganob showed no fear and went after Nontshinga, even getting him on the ropes. However, a lot of his work was getting blocked, and Nont landed several hard shots that got Suganob to back off immediately, including a nasty body shot. Nontshinga seems to be getting Suganob's timing down.

29-27 Nontshinga; good Suganob round. It was competitive but he was able to take it with some combos in the final 30 seconds.

THIS is the round he was looking to have; keep Nontshinga on the backfoot, minimize landing shots with parries, blocks, movement, land several sharp punches, and then get out of there. This time there was no heavy shot from the champion to counter Suganob's activity and partially landed shots.

39-36 Nontshinga; cleaner work wins it for Nontshinga, very nice left hooks landed by him this round.

Classic swing round; Suganob's sharp jab and activity vs Nontshinga's selective heavy shots that get through. I give it to Nontshinga just barely on several late shots but if someone scored for Suganob I wouldn't have an issue.

Good round from Suganob; active, landed multiple times, never let the few shots from Nontshinga go unanswered, never letting Nontshinga pin him against the ropes. Nontshinga very passive that round.

Much better round from the champion. Landing multiple clean shots while making Suganob miss wildly. Sug did get back into it towards the end of the round, but not enough to even it up.

 

Nontsingoa more accurate in the sixth, though Suganob did clip him with a right at the end.

67-65 Nontshinga; Suganob capitalizes on a fairly quiet Nontshinga round by taking it with combos in the last minute.

 

Closer seventh, since Suganob had a nice flourish in the closing minute. But Nontshinga was still more accurate and landed the more eye catching single shots.
