Moorer was so easy to hit v Cooper, he was awful at that stage.

Benn was awful in that fight, reminded me of Honeyghan v Starling, an amatuer v a pro except Starling was fighting better than Watson did on the respective occasions.

Some killer shouts so far. Carbajal-González I is a favorite of mine but it went 7 so it just missed out. But I got a couple more good ones...

    Gatti-Rodriguez
    Gatti-Ruelas
    Caveman Lee-John LoCicero
    Meza-Garza
    Mancini-Frias
    Márquez-Pacquiao IV

What the hell? All these great fighters were 'awful' and 'dreadful'??

Greatest short fights in boxing history (6 rounds or less)

This is not an exhaustive or authorative list by any stretch of the imagination but a starting point to try and pull something like it together.

I've included fights that were two-way fights rather than one-sided, great performances that were short fights. So, Louis-Schmeling 2, Dempsey-Willard etc, as memorable as they are, have not been included.

Some of these fights were still relatively one sided but they all include a strong element of jeopardy for the eventual winner so that's how I've managed to include the more one-sided of these two-way battles.

I've also included a few one rounders. It's arguable that these are "great fights", maybe just great rounds but any fight that has two way action, even in a single round is fair for inclusion in my view.

The list as it stands is heavily weighted towards the 80s up to the present so more suggestions to the list are very welcome, especially if they are pre-1980!

    Ray Mancini-Arturo Frias (1 round)
    Jaime Garza-Juan Meza (1 round)
    Nigel Benn-Iran Barkley (1 round)
    Jack Dempsey-Luis Firpo (2 rounds)
    Mike McCallum-Julian Jackson (2 rounds)
    Joe Calzaghe-Byron Mitchell (2 rounds)
    Marvin Hagler-Thomas Hearns (3 rounds)
    Iran Barkley-Thomas Hearns (3 rounds)
    Terry Norris-Troy Waters (3 rounds)
    Frankie Liles-Tim Littles 2 (3 rounds)
    Jose Luis Ramirez-Edwin Rosario 2 (4 rounds)
    Thomas Hearns-Juan Roldan (4 rounds)
Felix Trinidad-Yori Boy Campos (4 rounds)
    Kennedy McKinney-Junior Jones (4 rounds)
    Naseem Hamed-Kevin Kelley (4 rounds)
    George Foreman-Ron Lyle (5 rounds)
    Vito Antufuermo-Eugene Hart (5 rounds)
    William Lee-John LoCicero (5 rounds)
    Aaron Pryor-Akio Kameda (5 rounds)
    Eusebio Pedroza-Bashew Sibaca (5 rounds)
    Alexis Arguello-Andy Ganigan (5 rounds)
    Mark Medal-Earl Hargrove (5 rounds)
    Iran Barkley-Michael Olajide (5 rounds)
    Michael Watson-Nigel Benn (5 rounds)
    Ray Mercer-Tommy Morrison (5 rounds)
    Michael Moorer-Bert Cooper (5 rounds)
    Gerald McClellan-Julian Jackson 1 (5 rounds)
    Arturo Gatti-Gabriel Ruelas (5 rounds)
    Ezzard Charles-Lloyd Marshall 2 (6 rounds)
    Tony Zale-Rocky Graziano 1 (6 rounds)
    Tony Zale-Rocky Graziano 2 (6 rounds)
    Floyd Patterson-Ingemar Johansson 3 (6 rounds)
    Frank Fletcher-James Green (6 rounds)
    Robbie Sims-Iran Barkley (6 rounds)
    Vincent Pettway-Simon Brown (6 rounds)
    Tommy Morrison-Donovan Ruddock (6 rounds)
