My memory may have failed me but I thought Jeffery rolled Payakaroon in a fairly one sided affair?
My not be on the same levels as others but Tzsyu TKO 2 Judah was a good fight. Judah did very well in the first round and the 2nd round was even until that beautiful right hand.

I guess it was a little on the one sided type fight. But Payakaroon is a guy I rate highly, his movement showcased Jeff’s pressure style and cutting off of the ring ability, and played matador fairly well in rd 1 knocking Fenech down for the first time in his career

S**t! I don't remember that. Sounds like I need to give it a re-watch. Jeff was certainly an exciting fighter. Huge work rate.

Agreed! If my memory held up...Gatti won FOTY for his fights w Ward, Ruelas and Robinson...but I’m with you, Jel, that this is my favorite Gatti fight despite NOT winning the award.

Fought at a breakneck pace, the fight had amazing back and forth action throughout with both men badly hurt and dropped. Then Gatti, with his eye swollen shut and the imminent threat of the doctor stopping the fight...drops his man w a body shot in the 5th and puts him down for the 10 count in the 6th. A true classic.

I’m off work tomorrow...so I’m about to settle in and start knocking out a few of these that I haven’t seen...think I’ll start w @PhillyPhan69 recommendation of the Boza Edwards fight. Can’t go wrong w him, right? Great thread as always, my friend!

I think it's the end of the fourth when Rodriguez has thrown everything he possibly can at Gatti and Gatti is still standing and stares him down at the end of the round - I think he won then and there.

You certainly can't go wrong with a bit of Boza! And if you've got more time, I highly recommend his second fight with Bobby Chacon. It was FOTW a couple of weeks ago and it was even better than I remember it being.

Another one to add that's a bit different from most of my other selections:
    McCallum KO5 Curry

Rather than a slugfest, this was a high quality technical bout that was a very evenly fought for four rounds. It looked like there was every chance it was going late into the championship rounds or even to a close points decision, then out of nowhere McCallum flattens Curry with a picture-perfect left hook.

This fight for the inaugural WBA 122 lb was a classic and one of the greatest turn around ever.
