His record seems pretty inconsistent......but he beat some very good opponents like Baby Casanova......

Well, do you rate him at BW...in your top 15 or something ? We can say that he was one of the best BWs ever or just one of the many very good fighters in boxing history ??

He certainly gets respect for being first champ' from Puerto Rico.

I'm yet to see any footage of him. I'd say he's one of the very good fighters rather than great, yes inconsistent but some quality opponents as well.

6/10 i'd give him as a fighter. Probably 6th best Bantam of the top 15

Jeffra seemingly had his number, but in the 15 round rematch Escobar supposedly put a beating on him. Lost the series from what I can gather, and hey, it's also a glimpse of another (arguable) ATG in Harry Jeffra.

You can certainly dispute him being a two weight World champion, but he was truly World class in a very good era. But yeah, certainly flies under the radar and I only know a few basic details about him.

Hope you enjoy, not the most incredible footage, but certainly an interesting watch IMO :good

    Indeed. :good

One thing that can't be disputed is Escobar's chin. He was never stopped, or kd'd, in any of his fights. He's an underrated ATG in that regard, methinks.:deal

Ace post, and thanks for the stat' :good

It's a MASSIVE shame there's no footage of Casanova...though I'd gladly trade it for just the clip of Escobar sparking him :yep
