**** man. you should be ashamed of yourself making these statements. an overwhelming majority of esb member i remember predicted a pbf win via UD or KO. don't spin it as if people were not expecting this. heck, there was even a thread dedicated to boycotting this fight. something i have never seen in esb before simpley because jmm was a 4-1 underdog. tell me, what other fight was scored 120-107 that you can recall. damn it man. how can any self respecting pbf fan make this claim. pbf was taking the bigger risk, than who? jmm. jmm who basically climbed 3 weight classes from 130 since he fought at LW how many times again?
I said almost. except for age. Jesus Christ!!!! Your dislike of Floyd is deeper than boxing, huh? Now I get it.
I knew he was going to win, but not THAT easily, I thought JMM would at least put up a fight. Besides, I wasn't fooled by the hype. Everybody should have known it was a tune-up fight for a real mega-fight with Pac, but some people aren't that smart.
practically all of esb knew pbf is going to win. only the die hard jmm fans and other hopefuls where wishing for a miracle. heck, as much as a ******* as I am, i have been saying all along that PBF will beat pac and easily at that. pac does not have the size to bother pbf. during fight night, pac will probably come in at 147 at most while in the jmm fight, pbf can come in around 155-157. pbf should be fighting WW. not picking fighters south of the border. win or lose, pac will get our applause. acclaim is not something you can easily get if you fight lw, jww for 3 straight fights can you.
What's funny about this thread is that Floyd is not a natural welterweight, but everybody wants him to clean out the division. Pac is not a true welter either, but the NEW #1p4p gets a pass for doing EXACTLY what Floyd did.....and did not do. EXACTLY!!!!!! I'm not saying Floyd is God, nor am I saying Pac sucks, but there seems to be a blatant double standard.
double standard? dude, pac is a legitimate 140 at most. heck, for the hatton fight, he came in at 138. is that not an indication of his true fighting weight. pbf is true and natural welter as his physique has matured. stop thinking ala eze that he is not a natural ww. he weighed in at 146 and was probably around 155-160 during fight night. that is a the mark of a true welter just like cotto, mosley and others. to insist that he is not is living in the past. if you insist on that, then it would be logical for us to insist that jmm is a true featherweight just like pac also.
Brilliant point. I guess Oscar thinking Juan was going to win means all of us were too. Too much 24/7 for some people.
Pacquiao isn't picking on smaller guys than him because he knows how bad it looks. If you looked at the screen and saw marquez as anything other than a lightweight who didn't have to drain down to make weight then you have good reason to like mayweather so much. And saying Floyd is not a natural Welter Weight when he almost weighed middleweight weight against JMM?? He couldn't even cut down to 144, let alone if he had to fight at 135. I bet you $50,000,000 marquez could make 135 with ease.
Yeah for floyd nut-hugs size doesn't matter. That's their justification of floyd fighting blown up lightweight. That would be their justification when floyd fights calderon.
My point is that fighters move up in weight all the time. It seems that Floyd (who's been the smaller man in a lot of his fights) is getting a lot more critisism for fighting a smaller man than most fighters would.
pac can make 135 if he wants to imo. pac came in at 138 vs. hatton during the weigh in. this would give an idea how big pac or jmm truly are. its brave for these two fighters to look for challenges north of their true fighting weight. but it was simply disgusting for me to see pbf smirk and disrespect jmm during fight night as if jmm was a true welterweight. pbf has one of the best skill sets in this generation. probably the best. what i cannot understand is why he cannot look for the challenges which will cement his status as one of the ATG. instead of being an all time great, he is now beginning to look like an all time ***** by going after smaller fighters. hatton. jmm. pac. i expect them to lose to pbf. two have fallen and i expect pac to lose to pbf also. having said that, why can't pbf fight guys his own size. no one can deny he is a true welter. pbf has the best skill set, if only he had the balls to take on more risk.
dude. just look at his recent actions. hatton. smaller fighter. jmm. much smaller fighter. pac. smaller fighter.
Most fighters aren't walking around saying they are the best boxer who ever lived. If they were we would tear into them too.
