Regarding the Ricky Hatton vs Manny Pacquaio fight, one question i wish to ask is why is their so much emphasis placed on size??

In his most recent fights from the super feather weight divison to Lightweight Manny has regulary come into the ring at 145-148Lbs. His dimensions in comparison to Hatton are all advantageous except for fist and height. Even the poor boxing experts commentating in England stated Pacman will COME in at no more than 140lbs!! I stated all along Hatton would be surprised at the size of Pacquaio and in the end there was only 4lbs difference. In fact my prediction was Pac 10th round tko. What i could never have anticipated was an early doors K.O!!

It was the style and physicality of Hatton (some may say dirty tactics) which potentially could have caused Pacquaio Problems. However, many peope neglected the fact PacMan posseses perhaps the best two fisted attack in the game. Remember 'a hot offense always beats a cold defense'-Floyd Mayweather.

Left - Tszyu fight 05, right - Friday.

Size might be the factor - But in the reverse you're talking about in this case.

I thought Hatton would win, I wasn't prepared for how much power Pacquiao would have at 140. It was quite incredible, Pac's speed and power just scales with weight. I was very impressed.

Hatton looks kinda soft in the fight for Tsyzu. But what i mean is that mathed up very well in terms of size.

Hatton was the bigger man, but Pac was the better man. In terms of natural size, Hatton is much bigger.

Roach even said that Pac had breakfast on the day of the weigh-in, yet he still weighed in at 138

While they were close in weight for the fight, Hatton's "walking around" weight is around 170 pounds, while Pacquiao's is probably around 145 pounds. That's why there was all the talk about Hatton being the much bigger and supposedly stronger fighter.

Pacquiao has always had a big frame, people make too much of the very early years he spent down in the midget classes

Pacman's frame looks more or less like a natural lightweight's to me. And considering how good he is; moving up one or two division above LW is completely reasonable

Haon walks around 170lbs of pure fat. Pacquaio DOES NOT walk around 145lbs he was 148lbs on fight night. I heard he walks aroud about 155-158 and dude is STILL in shape. I ask again, check their dimensions Pacquaio is bigger in every department except fist , height and waist.

I would't say 'MUCH' bigger. They looked around same size in weigh in. In fact Pacquaio clearly has a bigger chest and is thick set. I just don't understand why he is regarded as a small man when he has come in at fight night at 145-148lbs for at least his last 5 fights.

What morons would predict that Manny wouldn't come in over 140 when he already weight in at 150 for his fight with DLH?

    Manny walks round at ~150-155

The sky 'experts', Nicky Piper, Jonny Nelson and Glen Mc'cory. I thought it was a disgraceful analysis, got soooo many facts wrong and clearly did no homework on Pacquaio. Pac did not weigh 150lbs for DLH. He weighed in at 142lbs and came in at 148.5 lbs on fight night-his heaviest yet.

To me there size isn't that much of a difference. Hatton walks around at 170lbs. But he fat as hell when he does.

There is barely an inch in height. Pacuaio clearly has a bigger chest and forearms. His legs are ****in HUGE. I Just don't understand why size is constantly the determining factor. A wise man once said, 'size don't win fight's.....skill does'-Uncle roger. lol
