On a side note, I think many people are being too dismissive of Joshua now.

Despite his three career losses, he did unify three of the belts, and he did defend them.

Absolutely. And don't forget that when AJ was fighting Klitschko, Wilder was fighting the ghost of Arreola and Washington.

 

So, a 6*3, 221 pound guy with a 78" reach is now small? That's bigger than Tommy Morrison, close to prime Hasim Rahman size. AJ is just a big, nicely-stuffed wooden dummy when approached by elite fighters who are real fighters at heart. A lot of guys from the past who had the quicks and footwork to twist him up would beat him. I've been calling this out for years, so have many others.

 

Joshua I feel will be the Patterson of his time. He will def be underrated. He fought and beat better men then both Wilder and Fury unfortunately he never got to meet them and probably won’t…although I can see wilder and him going at it for one payday

 

It was effective against smaller men, and slow pokes. When he faced slick fighters that could move (Ali, Young), he was lost.

Joshua has had his limitations placed on exhibit a few times now. It's natural, in the face of so much that has been made of Joshua, that people push back on the hype with a touch of vindication.

Yes - he pulled together a few of the belts (from Martin [IBF]; caught the vacant WBA strap against WK and the WBO belt from Parker). In the context of the multi-strap era, in which you can go literally years without facing or never facing the man of the division, he has done well - just not remarkably well.

His best win is likley the Klitschko win and that should put his career into perspective, really.

 

This is a false statement. Fury beat the better version of Wlad and fought Wilder x3. Wilder fought Fury x3 and Ortiz x2. Joshua’s win column isn’t on Fury’s level and his overall comp isn’t better than Wilder’s.

 

Fury is officially retired now, and this was a fight between the #1 and #2 ranked heavyweights. That is why the Ring title was on the line this time too.
