As simple as this. How can a minimumweight fighter take a puch from a heavyweight? And how will a punch from a minimun weight fighter affect a heavyweight fighter? Now start from there, try to reduce the size difference. And remember boxing is a physical sport.

Isn't that the point. Two equally skilled men of different size. The bigger man will be heavier stronger but as fast and fluid. They may hit each other equal times but the bigger mans shot will cause more damage. When they tie up the bigger man will have the strength advantage. On the ropes or toe to toe the bigger man will use his natural bigger power.

And do you think that weight class separation was just done for nothing?

    That's not true.

The bigger man doesn't always hit harder or is always heavier. Nor will he always be stronger.

Only someone with very little experience in boxing would think that size does not matter. Weight classes have evolved for a good reason.

However, Force = Mass x acceleration. So, if you are more massive and can muster the same acceleration, you will generate greater force. And force correlates with power directly.

both fighters have almost the same fighting style (counterpunchers) and the 'not so bigger' one as you speak is more younger, quicker and arguably more skilled so yes, because of this 'unnoticeable size difference' we're in for a treat..:nut

Power also comes from technique, if one doesn't use proper technique. Even being 10lbs heavier means nothing.

Paulie and Juan Diaz both outweigh Marquez, but Marquez hits harder than both, despite being lighter.

could the answer be that instead of being plain ****ing stupid if two oppenentz are EVENLY MATCHED in skillz that a little extra GOOD weight could actually be a advantage and tip the scalez JUST enough to make them the wee bit unbalanced in the bigger fighterz favor ?

could this be the answer why there have been so few boxing championz that have had success throughout history when challenging in higher weight classez ?

could this be the answer why the ONLY boxerz throughout history that have been able to successfully move up in weight classes have been the boxerz with the best SKILL SETz ?

they are top fighters, so you should assume that their techinique is close to perfect
so when a fighter has extra ten lb with him against another guy, he could push the other guy around, make him tierd and win the fight using his size
