I can't remember ever seeing a fight which I had expected to be a hug closely session, turn into such a classic battle.

It wasn't one for the purists, I'll admit, but my god did it deilver? and by the spade full.

This fight exceeded expectations big time.

What are your thoughts of the bout, and can you remember any similar contests that promised so little but delivered so much?

The eighth round was brilliant, fair play to Skelton for surviving it. I think we may see a re match.

I'm racking my brains D-Mac, i honestly can't. There must have been but right now i can't think of a heavyweight comparison. I am still on a high and having binge drinked during the fight am a bit pissed. I missed the first couple of rounds as i wasn't that bothered so went to get some booze in.

I am pretty sure Rogan can't be knocked out, he is Bartley Gorman finally making the pro's listen. :happy

    Loved that post mate.

I just know someone will come along and prove me wrong, but it was a "fortress of stone" type fight that was built from "sandcastle" beginnings.

I thought this fight might not be the stinker that some people expected, but I didn't think it would be as good as it turned out.

As the experts say styles makes fights and it certainly did tonight. Two guys not prepared to take a step back and it proved a good spectacle. Going back to Dmacs original post i cant think of a fight that has exceeded expectations so much before. Certainly not recently.

What an excellent slugfest. Maybe compare to Morrison-Ruddock but with better chins and less skills.

Who'd have thought ANYONE would be able to bully Skelton. That was a proper fight. Rogan is a real throwback, so tough and so damn ugly!
    Who can he fight next?

I am going to make a bold statement:

Best british heavyweight fight of this decade so far.

(Although Rogan is Irish, I count him as british, because best UK fight of the year doesn't sound as good)

Does this mean that Rogan loses the "taxi-driver" moniker? The guy is clearly a fighter. I was shocked to see the headline that he won. Gotta give him credit as Skelton is a tough customer.

Great weekend for fight fans, Rogan is an unmovable brick wall, what heart the man has, i am so pleased for him and his family, John Breen and Eamon McGee in the corner were cracking me up as well they really get the best out of Rogie.

Congrats to Rogan, he deserves it, and now the title scene becomes much more exciting.

The European belt was at stake in this? I hope it was. Can't see Dimitrenko interested in Skelton after this loss.
