Who you got for this fight 2moro?

Seems to have slipped under the radar with the JMM-PBF fight happening.

I've only seen Pianeta the one time; he didn't impress me.

    Can Matt get the win?

Yeah Skelton can potentially get the win. If this was a few years ago I think I'd make him a favourite, but he fought poorly against Rogan, a guy he should have beat.

The thing with Pianeta is he's an Abraham. He'll tuck up a lot early on, Skelton needs to take advantage of that and get rounds in the bank without tiring himself out. He needs to conserve enough energy for Pianeta's bursts, and for later on, because I doubt he'll take this dude out.

The massive problem he has is I don't think he can knock this guy out or win it comfortably enough to give himself a good shot with the judges. If I had to commit I think Pianeta wins a close decision.

    (1) According to boxrec and seconds out.

    (2) Sorry achilles, probably not. This is just a picture I dug out to show my colours for the big rumble 2moro night.

You only have to watch Pianeta/Sosnowski for an indication of how this goes. The Pole was outworking him comfortably for long periods, but Pianeta had his bursts and got stronger as the fight progressed. I still thought Sosnowski nicked it but they gave it a draw.

Skelton has to find a really careful balance between outworking the guy and winning rounds but not expending too much energy, because judging by the Rogan fight his gas tank isn't as big as it was.

This is on the Sylvester/Lorenzo undercard, its a good card. It's on ARD if you have a dish, or..you know where else.

Pianeta is garbage....hes shown what level he is at.

Unfortunately so is Skelton at this point.....he was getting outboxed by big Rogie...he can win....and I hope he does.

Does anyone know if Rogan was due to get this fight before he lost to Sexton>

    Spoiler:

I don't know how it was stopped (possibly an injury?), but Skelton was TKO'ed in the 9th.

Corner retirement, citing a hand injury.

It felt like it should've been over after the Rogan loss. Fair play for having another go, but this should confirm it. Matt's got nothing to be ashamed of.

If Skelton retires after this I'll have nothing but respect for him. Solid, honest pro, proof that you don't have to be really good to be popular.

He has done a hell of a lot in the sport, considering he only came into it at a very late age for a boxer and had only kick boxing experience behind him.

Good luck to him in whatever he decides to do in the future :good
