I think the Hopkins lack of athleticism is a bit overstated. I mean a part from RJJ who are the fighters that Hopkins fought that were clearly faster than him?? I know that his excellent timing and footwork play a great role but he is still a pretty fast guy.

Ward is perhaps the most unbeatable boxer since prime RJJ. His overall skill, technique and ability is on a different level to any other current boxer or any boxer in the last 10 years.

I've always thought that Juan Manuel Marquez has better technique than Mayweather or Pacquiao. He's just not as athletically gifted as them with speed and power.

Mayweather and Hopkins probably aren't as skilled as Ward at the moment, but when they fought at 130 and 160 respectively they were both better than they are now. Back then they were more complete fighters who could move and attack. Overall, even though he lacks a good offense, I have to go with Mayweather.

Mayweather's personal best performance would probably be against Diego Corrales, and Hopkins would be against Glen Johnson. I don't know about Ward, but perhaps Chad Dawson.

He used to have a really fast jab, he kept up with Jones and made it tight.Roy wasnt doing any a that youtube stuff against him. He's immobile enough though good all round can keep up and has some fast pucnhes nowhere near ward or mayweather though

He's not super slow but he's not as fast as Ward and Floyd. In many of Ward and Floyd's wins they have been clearly the faster man. Hopkins has enjoyed that kind of speed advantage over his opponents on far fewer occasions.

And anyone who thinks differently is either a fvcking idiot who shouldn't follow boxing, or they are obsessed with the fact that out of the ring Mayweather is a lowlife piece of sh it.

In 2 of his biggest fights against Pascal and Tarver they were both viewed as the faster handed and more powerful fighters and he broke them down using better technical skills. The debate for me is that both Floyd and Ward in most of their fights are more physically talented than their opponents whereas BHOP relies more on technical skills. If the poll was who was the most physically talented BHOP wouldn't be anywhere near the top 2.

Andre Ward doesn't belong in the same sentence as boxers like Bernard Hopkins, Floyd Mayweather or Joe Calzaghe :nono

He did well for a while, but he's not meant greatness.

Gotta be Floyd as the other two rely on illegal tactics and we shouldn't encourage that.

Calzaghe and best pure skills don't belong in the same book, never mind same sentence.

Hopkins and i agree with some of the *****s, its not close.
Floyd is pretty great but he relies a lot on his physical attributes.

My argument is that his lack of physical gifts is a bit overstated though. Somebody mention that Pascal was faster. Maybe true but not by a lot. I don't think that Tarver was faster.

I had to go with Hopkins and I really don't like him.

Hopkins is a real throwback, knows every trick in the book and is that old probably wrote a few chapters himself lol

Fighting at his age and still giving some top young fighters the run around is all down to his style, defensive skills and gamesmanship, he is a bore to watch but I have to admit you can learn so much watching him.

    Floyd
    Ward

    Hopkins

Hopkins couldn't beat Jermain Taylor. In two attempts. Case closed.
