his frame looked much smaller then. but while his boxing knowledge has somewhat improved he looked much better then - almost like a real boxer.
Great video, never seen this fight before. Sam Peter has amazing killer instincts, thats something that cant be taught in the gym. I dont know if this weight is perfect for him or not, I feel 240 is a good weight for him IMO.
Exactly. Peter is an exciting fighter, a true finisher. He bludgeons guys to the canvas. Just the kind of champion the HW division needs.
Big difference. Almost didn't recognized Peter. If Peter took off at least 10 pounds I would take him a little more seriously - considering the fact Peter said he never did any running as a part of his training regiment until he fought Toney the second time around.
He'll most likely never get to that weight again, although he was sharp. This fight shows how much he's improved. Back then you could see how bad he was winging his punches. He's cleaned this up and added a jab, but his weight is higher and conditioning not as sharp. Too bad he couldn't combine his past shape with his present skill level.
No, I honestly didnt. I didnt really get into Peter full time until he fought Williams, I think that was his first real fight where everyone took notice.
