Exactly. It's not like any of the last lot of Olympians have really earned their corn, is it? Doubt it. Primetime to me seem like their simply offering a service to promoters of foreign fights to make a few quid. It's a mutually beneficial arrangement. It's not in Sky's interests to buy (say) Pacquiao vs Marquez, as the advertising revenue won't cover the cost (probably). If that goes over to Primetime, if the costs are split there's a few quid for both, even with minimal buys. The Guru is the man :good Wouldn't surprise me. All Haye PPV's have sucked bad, Sky only have themselves to blame though. Still, if it forces others to sort themselves out and offer value for money it might have been worth it. Would have been good to see the Millwall twat get his clock cleaned though. Hmmm..... Froch vs Ward is a trade fight. Neither are particularly big draws in the States, Froch probably sells more there than he does here. I'd pay for it though, he's always good value. I'm not sure Sky will do PPV's at 4am. They've only done 4 in recent years, three Hatton ones all did ok, Khan vs Maidana was probably ****. Four I think. Kinda made it pointless atsch
It will be a shame if it does go down hill, iv enjoyed it and kept my sky sports subscription for it! While we are on the subject anyone know if ESPN (uk) will be still showing the Friday Night FIghts? Now iv got sky plus im considering buying it as an extra channel just for that! Also anyone know what the deal is with BoxNation channel? At the moment its on my sky package and seems to show past fights from 8pm till 10pm each eveing? Cheers for any info
I wasn't into boxing too much back then, so when they were showing the adverts I thought 'wow, seven title fights'. How annoyed would you be if you bought it, found out that it was only four fights (+ highlights) with most of the titles being Inter-Continental rubbish that was meaningless? Khan vs Maidana must have been an OK PPV as it had the Mag7 II Card as well. And it had two world title fights (until Wlad pulled out).
