Before and after the Wlad fight last night i noticed Glen McCrory taking digs at David Haye, firstly going out of his way to say Chag was a 'much better' opponent than Haye would have been and then after the fight saying he bets Haye wants no part of Wlad now. Johnny Nelson seemed to have a pained look on his face when McCrory was saying this too. Anyone else notice this?
I noticed what McCrory said about Chagaev being better but I think it was based on the fact that Chagaev has proven more at HW etc.
Haye is unproven at heavyweight and has a suspect chin. Wheras Chagaev has beaten Valuev and a bunch of other legit heavyweights so you can easily side with McCory being correct in his evaluation. Lets not forget that Johnny Nelson thought that Tony Dodson would "Have too much" for Carl Froch ahead of their fight too.
McCory has made negative comments on Haye at heavyweight before He says that Haye has proven nothing at heavyweight - not even that he is World Class at heavyweight It seems McCory has a dislike for Haye to a slight degree Maybe he is a bit jealous of him as he was a former Crusierweight Champ too And Haye is much better than Glen ever was Saying that though I usually agree with Glen on most things And once again I commend Glen for showing some backbone and not being just another David Haye bum licker :blurp
Lets be honest lads the coverage of boxing, the commentary and pundits in particular is getting beyond a joke. When I watched the ITV's coverage of John MUrray vs Lawton I felt like almost throwing the laptop across the room listening to it. Lawton had nothing on Murray all night, NOT A SINGLE THING, and that ****wit - I believe it was Duke McKenzie wouldn't give Murray a single ounce of credit. That has got to be some of the worst boxing commentary i've heard in years (And thats impressive given the amount of shite spouted on Sky on a weekly basis)
Wlad was boring and basic in his approach. Chagaev was boring, basic, uninspired and not interested in genuinely trying to be the owner of 4 belts. Wlad slows the pace of a fight down, paws with the jab and is too sporadic with his power punches. I was thinking Haye would surely do more. He is a much more talented, versatile fighter who could pull off moves that Chagaev wouldn't dare try. I really want to see Haye v Wlad. Haye needs to avoid that power but he has the speed to come in with huge bombs that could close the show.
