Whyte even said himself in an interview they came back with 50-50 but he thought no I'll be mando, win the belt and no rematch clause so he can call the shots.

Whyte had been so well paid for the likes of Del Boy etc he genuinely thought he’d be getting £10+ mil in his title shot.

I suspect we might be talking about the same interview, but he never said anything about 50-50. Whyte is clear that Joshua was demanding the lions share in the rematch. Which indicated it wasn't 50-50. He then says about becoming mandatory, winning the belt that way, so he can call the shots, as you say.

I could well be wrong, and there is another video out there. But this was a pretty infamous interview where Hearn was put on the spot and caught out by Whyte.
    Is it facts? Maybe...Maybe not.

As I say, first I have ever heard of this in years of discussing the topic on here.
Do any of you have the video of this?

I've timed stamped it, it talks briefly about the Joshua v Miller fight already been agreed and then this question:

If you watch the full video, it's pretty clear they were trying to take Whyte for a ride and there was no 50-50 offer, and quite funny when Hearn gets trapped in the lie. But it's a long video, and not something I expect anyone to watch. It's old news. But it shows what went on.

But history showed that he was worth more than Joshua was offering.
Both Whyte and Joshua were at the peak of their respective careers when Joshua low balled him.
Whyte was in a far more unfavourable negotiating position for the WBC title, and yet he got more from Fury than Joshua was ever willing to give up.
    Make it make sense...

It was a different interview. Can't remember what fight it was rhe build up for, I think the povetkin rematch. He 100% said it though.

Well, it kind of goes directly against what Hearn and Whyte are saying in that video, in what was a candid discussion.

Maybe someone knows the interview you saw

If memory serves correct Whyte was unhappy with the terms of any potential rematch? That said the whole thing was moot as they wanted AJ to fight in the US

    His Portsmouth Show?
It wasn't a fight, so is that like some kind of "An Evening With Dillian Whyte"?
Who on earth paid for that? lol

Yeah, I still don't know what that is.
    What was Hearn's Portsmouth Show?
You said Whyte was there, fighting?

After the negotiations broke down Whyte fought in Greenwich, then Dubai, then Essex.

Eddie thought he was bigger than Sky, left a good thing now bitter as heck, they have moved on. Got good bag ££ going to DAZN but doesnt look too clever long term. Sky shits on DAZN as a commercial platform.

Well, not the strongest counter argument, I'm sure you'll admit...lol

Anyway, trying to find this mystery interview of yours, I came across this from a year after the negotiations (link below).

I guess I side with Whyte on this one
    https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/11501037/dillian-whyte-anthony-joshua-rematch/

i.e. it was a low ball to keep fans onside so they could save face while cancelling the Wembley date so they could pursue the American dream at the MSG.

It's the exact same conclusion I came to following the events at the time, and a full year before that article was published.

To be honest, it was pretty obvious they had been lining up the Miller fight in MSG for a very long time, it was only a Wilder/Fury fight that was going to change their plans.

All the surrounding evidence points to that being true. I don't know how anyone continues to argue differently to be honest
