Could be worse, we could have ads like this [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFIs1fFBZL8&lc=dSJVYuAS6At0HiJt-WQPolAiriXxfH1ieOa-75h1SIQ&feature=inbox[/ame]
The adds are more than 10 seconds mate, try 30-40 seconds if not more. I don't see the point of paying for a PPV when you can watch it online and CONNECT IT TO YOUR TV to watch it on your TV in good quality. If Sky were providing a good service and proper fights for a PPV night, I could justify buying but Degale vs Groves was never PPV.
First up, I make you right in that there shouldn't be ads between rounds on PPV broadcasts and Degale vs Groves should not have been PPV either. BUT as annoying as it is I fail to see how Sky are treating boxing fans like cnuts. Their coverage is improving all the time and they're screening major events (Manny, Floyd, Vitali etc) for no additional cost. Let's not start playing the hard done by fans card ALL of the time.
Aren't some boxers in certain parts of the world having temporary signs done on their backs advertising products/services whilst they are actually fighting?! But yeah, ads between rounds is i This content is protected
This content is protected HOW THE HELL DO YOU EXPECT ME TO MAKE MONEY ? ADVERTISING FUNDS THE GREAT CARDS I PROMOTE YOU INGREDIENT *******S !.
No extra cost apart from the £40 subscription you have to pay. And the only reason these fights are not on PPV is cos they'd bomb.
Yeah, hence the 'extra', I'm fully aware I pay a subscription. These things tend to turn into a bit of a witchhunt, that's the problem, and Sky is definitely improving it's coverage. The fact is they don't HAVE to put those fights on and they do still cost Sky to broadcast so fair play to them I say. Nevertheless, there is always room for improvement and zero ads between rounds would definitely be one of them.
They have an obligation to their subscribers. If you're paying £40 or whatever for a sports channel then you'd expect some boxing. Don't act as if they're doing something special or extra for their customers by showing Pacquiao fights or whatever. However, Sky is great for British boxing and their coverage of the domestic stuff. The sport would be dead in this country without them. But I'm not sure if having 8 presenters means their coverage is getting better. We could do with seeing more undercard fights rather than pointless chat in the studio.
About as fit as a jockey, you know those other athletic supermen. Women want them and men what to be them.
My memory may be failing me but wasnt there an ad when Tszyu retired against Hatton? Just a vague memory of there being nothing much going on then pandamonium. Could have been that I just went the loo like but pretty sure it was an advert.
Couldn't agree more on the PPV. If I pay £15 for a domestic PPV I want the card from 7pm latest. But my point is that everyone seems to complain about Sky as if we're some hard done by race. The coverage is pretty good I think, ok, maybe not on a global scale but that's a big ask. It's not like you get every big football match.
