Force of habit beat Ricky. He went into old Ricky mode where he runs at you. Ricky has never kept his hands up and used strength, power, stamina and durability to get away with it. The best made him pay for it. Ricky has been ko'd twice - both were as a result of him telegraphing his move, lunging in with a left hook while his hands were low and his chin high. I think it's true that the Hatton that beat Tszyu would have had a better chance against Pacman,but that Hatton no longer exists.Hatton has been in a slow decline since then and his punch resistance has certainly waned,he took some big shots against Tszyu and came through.
The writing was on the wall when the light hitting Lazcano was hurting him.Basically i think Manny stylewise is all wrong for any version of Hatton but i do think 4 years ago it would have been more competitive.
