I’m watching last nights card in New York and once again the Sky commentary is horrendous. Why do they all insist on having verbal diarrhoea during the entire fight? Adam Smith just doesn’t shut the **** up and they are screaming over eachother. They probably speak more than radio commentary ffs. Just be quiet for a couple of seconds and let us enjoy the matches. In fact the whole production is irritating and adverts after every round is ****. Hilariously Paul Smith said at the beginning of the 4th round how interesting it was to listen to the corners in between rounds. Lucky for you mate as we, the paying customer, don’t get to listen to any of what is an important part of the match up. Complete clown.

Anyone agree or is it just me being picky and over sensitive?

I watched the aj v povetkin comms on dazn and whole they are undoubtedly more balanced I find a lot of US comms lacks any excitement or passion.

Remember its meant to be aimed at a casual audience to get the sport as big a following as possible.

I’m with you on it being hugely irritating not being able to listen the cornerman in between rounds because they’re rinsing it on adverts. When they do it on PPV cards that winds me up even more.

That is one thing I like about the PPV shows on BT and ITV. No adverts. Not just between rounds, but no adverts at all. But that should be standard when you're paying PPV IMO.

Exactly, you're paying extra for the fights which includes what happens in between rounds, not some **** advert trying to flog you a feckin mattress

Darke and McCrory have been the best since I’ve been watching boxing. Seems a mile off now.

Sky are awful. Truly awful. Unbearable! They do great promotional adverts and clips to draw in the casuals, but the punditry couldn't be any worse. It's so agenda driven it's hard to stomach and unnecessary. It smacks of desperation.

DAZN cover the cards much better.

The bias is absolutely horrendous, to the point that they are really missleading people on how a fight is actually going and who is winning.

They also talk far too much and feel like they must constantly talk to fill the space. I prefer the UK Eurosport commentator from a few years ago, he was brutally honest and only spoke when it was required.

I do think its an issue with British commentary in general, because the commentary on the Hughie-Pulev fight by channel 5 was just as bad as any sky commentary. They were completely ignoring Pulev's ram rod jab as it landed, and talking up Hughie's poorer work.

100% agreed and tbh I don’t think it’s too much to ask as we are paying £17 or £20 notes for a PPV. It’s an important part of the fight, hence why trainers now also get a mention when fighters are being introduced. Us, the fans, want to know the game plan and state of play in the corner. Good to see BT/ITV box office not following suit.

The quality of fights on Sky at the weekend were good, that's the main thing. Though i agree their out of order doing adverts all the time as I like listening to the corner. I think their scared because of corners swearing which makes me laugh when we're watching people get punched in the face. I agree their commentary needs to improve. I just feel commentators following a script too often instead of being honest.
