I've heard Matchroom say before and now Frampton mention that Sky don't like showing fights from Belfast/Ireland because the production costs are more expensive. So why are Sky quite happy to show Premier League Darts live from both Belfast and Dublin and also broadcast the World Grand Prix live from Dublin. Surely the same must apply for the production cost of darts in Ireland. Just wondered if anyone knew why they quite happily show the darts but seem to shy away from wanting to show boxing in Ireland.
I don't think you can simply say they must cost the same, we have no idea the cost or what they bring in.
I'm guessing the viewing figures make it worth it for the Darts etc whereas it has been said Frampton's figures weren't the greatest.
Advertising revenue, viewing figures etc etc will be so much higher through the darts than it will for a Frampton fight. Frampton appeals to the Northern Irish and hardcore UK boxing fans, whilst Darts has universal appeal throughout the UK and to a much larger scale. I don't see how you couldn't have worked this out yourself.
