watched monroe this morning, he gave his all against a classy proven champ, showing heart and desire in a good fight, what ruined it for me is the silly commentry by adam smith, he's a pure idiot, at the end of the second round, he tried to say a superbantamweight world champ was blowing, are we suposed to beleive that, he's ignoring the champs punches and only mentioning monroes work, then the champion, fighting very well for a man alledgedly blowing after 2 rnds finishes the fight at full pace and well on top, then mr smith tells us he is the no1 main man etc, what the **** is wrong with telling it how its happening, he sounds like a member of monroes family than a commentater, he's about as un bias as a crown green bowl. he understands boxing like i understand bally, only im not commenting on it.:-(
Tbh Portside Nishioka was blowing at times early one....he was gasping in corner a fair bit and leaving gumshield out a bit..i think he started nervy because of Munroe's size. His work did go un-noticed at times i agree, i gave him the opening 3 but felt confident in Munroe that he could take the Green Belt home but as the fight grew on Nishioka just got better and better. I don't like Smith but didn't feel he was biased.
I normally agree with things you say portside, but I can't on this. After the 3rd I think it was I was thinking nishioka was looking a bit tired after being worked well by munroe. Only after keeping the distance and working off his jab did nishi start looking more comfortable and less tired as he wasn't trading and staying in the pocket. I think it could have been a much different fight had the bout been up close and personal, and a much more tired and "blowing" nishi. But the guy did what champions do. Regard smith, i think he can sound quite like a fan boy sometimes, and isn't a patch on darke for commentary style, but He was right on this one
Nishoka was blowing! He was laughing at Murnoe for most of the fight. It was a joke. Just goes to show the bias of the British posters on here.
I don't think he was that bad today, certainly nowhere near as bad as some of his commentary a couple of years ago. He does have to fight with himself to not be a fanboy..... especially when John McDermott is on.
he was taking deep breaths, actualy done the same thing before he entered the ring, what is the point of mentioning such crap, did you beleive the champ was tired after 2 rnds, doesen't an amateur fight 3 3s.
Banjo, go and ****ing snap your banjo you muggy bell end. It's not bias, it's the truth. Later on in the fight, nishi came into his own and undoubtedly found the fight easier by fighting at distance, but early stages make no mistake munroe has nishi worried
so he had his gumshield hanging out his mouth and chest panting before he got in ring?? I think it was nervous energy on his part, he wasn't blowing out his arse but he was trying to catch his breath once he settled he was sublime.
Nishioka was breathing heavy but he was the same all the way through.By round 5 it was obvious thats just what he does.Commentators are often like that.My cousin used to go mad about it when he first started watching boxing.A Steve Collins fight almost gave him a stroke,Steve was getting nailed by the other guys jab and looked awful for a few rounds but to listen to sky`s commentator he was all over the guy.He never once mentioned Collins getting hit. It could have been Smith thinking about it!German comentators are worse than ours. The German fighter could be getting the 10 count and they would still be singing his praises.
when i used to box i always heavy breatheing, im not sure why but i could always carry on, it was just the way it was, maybe he has a similar problem. i have the same with 5 a side these days aswell
It was like the Booth - Molitor fight when Molitor glanced over at his corner in the 3th and Jim Watt had the fight all but over, "He's looking at his corner, he doesn't fancy it"
