on a week delay. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,12947,00.html Williams vs Quintanta.
So they are still interested in boxing???? I suppose I should be glad we get to see it but I get a feeling of atsch  with Sky at the moment.
why i wonder? why no ride the PBF crest and show other good US fighters that Setanta wont have on, or better still, try outbid Setanta for the coverage. Hopkins-Calzaghe, that would be huge, if Sky had ambition they would want this fight!
ITV may drop boxing according to an interesting article on The Guardian website. Apparently "it is becoming commercially unviable for an advertising funded channel". ITV also said to be reviewing the situation after investing in boxers and then seeing some of their big fights go to PPV channels instead. Wonder what will happen with Khan if ITV knock boxing on the head?
both the bbc and setanta were interested last summer when FW was negotiating with ITV. setanta would be the obvious destination as they show the rest of SNs fights and i'm sure signing khan would earn them a few more subscriptions. as for boxing becoming commercially unviable, i'm sure it would do a lot better if they actually put some effort into advertising and building the fights up.
The BBC do seem to have rekindled their interest in boxing recently by re-showing both Calzaghe and Hatton's recent fights so maybe they will get involved - otherwise its a two horse race really, Setanta or Sky.
Obviously the 65 odd K per US fight is putting them off, especially when I dont think the ratings are that great. I'll bet Poker gets more viewers than boxing.
What is the point of a delayed broadcast?? why not just show it live like they have done with other US fights?
It's not the point though is it? the only reason I subscribe to Sky Sports was for the boxing. Don't watch many English games coz I just catch the highlights on MOTD and the SPL games are on Setanta. The fact that they are paying 170k for a 3rd round Scottish cup game between Clyde and Dundee UTD is a **** take, they obviously aren't having to tighten the purse strings. It's called Sky Sports for a reason, and it's failing the Boxing fans who pay their subscription every month.
