Looks like it, must be kinda embarrassing for them doing a piece on Groves the other week knowing that he isn't even fighting on Sky. Their schedule looks pretty thin, bad form that Angulo-Kirkland won't be live and throwing it on SS4 is another kick in the balls and ya can be sure it won't be on SS1 during the sunday because sunday's on SS1 are stacked with football. I only have SS1, not many people can afford all 4 sports channels. I'll keep it until Froch-Ward and then change to boxnation when that goes encrypted.
Skys schedule is looking better then it did,from the 9th there is at least one show a week untill christmas,also 2 World title fights with a Brit in invlolved coming up.If they get Khan back then it would look even better
Sky have still a decent stable of good fighters (mainly from Matchroom and Hatton) including some decent up and comers... Froch, Brook, Quiggg, Frampton, Price, Barker, Mccloskey, Harrison, M. Murray, J. Murray. Be even stronger if Khan were to go back... They've also got the Klits, so they should have a decent schedule for the coming months especially if they can grab a few decent international bouts.
I think Sky are just playing the waiting game with Khan. If they want him back they will get him, simple as. Khan-Peterson does nothing for them really and even hardcore fans aren't mad about it either and maybe Khan is oversestimating his own worth in fights against opponents like Peterson. If Khan gets Mayweather next year which is possible, Sky will be back in there like a shot, muscle Primetime out of the way and throw big money at that fight.
It was interesting that Khan did say about this fight that he was taking more responsibility in terms of TV negotiations, in previous bouts he has stated he leaves such negotiations with his management team. I'm pretty sure Khan has got a good relationship with Sky it's not as some people have made it out to be. I got a feeling that Khan would be happy to have this fight on normal Sky especially with the HBO money he'll be getting, I blame the greed of his management team for taking him to Primetime. I hope he does go back to Sky!
Kirklands chin is a strange one. The guy took flush shots fron Joel julio, who while not a huge puncher, would certainly seem to be a bigger puncher than the jap. Was it just that golden boy were turning him around too fast or something to do with weight. I know maxboxing alluded to stuff that was happening in Vegas when he was training. Didn't say what but gave the impression he may have been enjoying himself a bit too much down there. Or maybe I'm wondering too much and he just genuinely has lost his punch resistance. Just seems strange
I reckon it was weight draining. He must have came out of Prison around Cruiserweight or something like that. He was always a big guy, and he definetely got bigger in prison, so I reckon cutting weight really damaged his punch resistance. The bum he fought in his second comeback fight buckled his legs, and as soon as he faced a half decent opponent in Ishida, it all fell apart for James. I have no doubt that a pre-prison Kirkland would have beaten Ishida though, and eaten his best shots for breakfast.
