Woke up this morning and scrolled Instagram. Hearn/DAZN/fight build up is once again all over social media and meme pages.

Sky’s promotional vehicle is top top notch BUT I think people underestimate this social media pull.

 

agree I think they are targeting the younger fans as they know in the next 5/10 years this will be their core audience.

most 20-40 year olds digest their content from social media these days

only have to look at the fact Hearn has a million people actively engaged with him on his Instagram. That’s more than ever watch sky sports news over a 24 hour period

 

What about all the boxing fans age 40+ that don’t use Instagram

 

Sky better hope h fury puts on an entertaining performance for once otherwise a lot of people will switch off once again

I’ve seen them on insragram, Twitter and heard them on talksport. I think the promo on talksport was wasted because they got Tony bellew to do it, so I imagine most people tuned out when he started talking.

 

Got a feeling the next Hughie main event on Sky will be him vs Chisora (now that it's seem Parker is more interested in fighting Joyce it seems).

 

Peter is right and the key words are "at this present time" as even he knows eventually online platforms will take over from the current Sky subscription/satellite model. Not to say that Sky cannot compete or adapt, I'm sure they will however at present they are loosing market share to DAZN, a market which they have dominated for the last 30 years.

He was cagey about Valdez positive test as well, I thought it was interesting he reiterated that if Valdez had tested positive before the fight the fight would definitely not go ahead which could be a nod towards Hughie and Tyson being allowed to fight Hammer and Rudenko by UKAD.

Twitter trends suggest the UFC on BT comfortably did more viewers than Warrington-Lara.
